“As a Texan who was forced to move to New York less than a year ago, finding restaurants. that have elidable food has been impossible this state does not believe in flavor or normal food. Where chicken and waffles is something, I could get at any fast-food restaurant, is now a foreign concept up here. I found this place by the grace of God, it gives you that home feeling. Collard greens a amazing, ya man bowl top notch, and the Nashville chicken although I would love more heat the flavor is on point. This is my favorite restaurant in NY! :)”

“Stopped in and was wowwed! The inside is beautiful and large and the staff were extremely friendly and quick. None of the patrons were dressed in costume for the Halloween season and it is rare I show up somewhere please start underdressed which made me happy. I did not get to try the food but got to meet the chef who takes a lot of pride in everything being handmade even the soups; and all of the locals have raved about the food. It was easy to make friends though I wandered in alone and even made a few pictures. Not at all like some small town is eager to get to know you and appreciate any eccentricities that you might possess. They were happy to provide Intel about local culture people places and things but with positive connotation. Any and all gossip was in the nature of singing the Praises of the above listed and there was nothing bad anyone seemed to have to say about anyone else or their town. Genuinely kind patrons and staff and food raved about and my drink was affordable. Will definitely be making this one of my new local watering holes and it exceeds any expectations for small town watering holes. Thank you for making me feel so welcome and getting to know me and including me in the fun.”

“Had breakfast here 2x this past weekend. Food was great, waitstaff very friendly, space is nice. You can tell that this is a local hangout, everyone seemed to know each other. Lost electricity the 2nd visit, but they didn't miss a beat. Luckily, we'd already ordered and gotten our food. They were very apologetic when turning others away as they had no idea when they'd get power again. I'd love to go back and see what they offer for lunch.”

“My brother came up from NJ and we wanted to try somewhere new. I’ve lived in the area for 2.5 years and had yet to visit. Franklin House did not disappoint! Great food selection, wonderful staff, and the food was amazing! Definitely a 10/10 experience, and will be back! I got the French dip, he got a burger - large delicious portions came to the table. We also had a to go order, which they timed to line up with us finishing our meal. If you haven’t gone yet, do it - you won’t regret it.”

“i'll tell you what. this bar and grill is the best place i think i've ever stepped foot in in my life. i am saddened to say that i live over 100 miles away from this establishment. i would be here every night if i could.

me and my friends all got different things on the menu and let me tell you. not one item missed the mark. the chef COOKED in more ways than one. and everything was so wonderfully priced. i saw the prices and i swear i said "wonderful." and they'll make good leftovers too because the portions were more than generous!

the waitress was so attentive and she called us all her loves which made me feel valued and love. she was so enthusiastic to be serving us tonight. her enthusiasm made ME enthusiastic about writing this here review. i'm literally writing this while still sat at my table. she SERVED in more ways than one.

We came on the perfect night. not too busy, not too hot, and a cool breeze flowing across my skin, hinting at the gentle fall air to come. if you sit outside, you have a great view of the lake too.
