The room was empty at 4pm they sat us in the main hallway by the bar The table was dirty,greasy, And silverware was disgusting. Second table there and couldnt get an end cut, the meat came rare and was toughest Primerib I ever had, It was my 3rd visit in less than 2 yrs... Ive heard it changed sence my 1st visit, now i beleave it has ,not sure it was even prime rib no marble,and tougher than strip from a microwave. My frinds that turned us on to S.D. hotel wont be back ,and i wont be bringing mom back for anymore birthday dinners. Its sad (wash your silverware) at least.

We visited the Amish community and stores in the area, and the South Dayton Hotel turned out to be the best spot for both lunch and dinner. The sandwiches and burgers are absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. it’s probably a family-owned business. Service is quick and friendly, which makes the dining experience even better. Whether you’re stopping by after exploring the local Amish shops or just looking for a great place to eat, this restaurant is a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys good food, great service, and a charming small-town vibe!

I ate at the restaurant; did not stay at the hotel. The food was tasty and the staff were friendly. It was a little chilly inside and a sulphuric smell permeated the restroom area.
