Finally got the chance to try these guys after months of pining. In the end, it was just okay. My cousin was visiting from England and we were looking for places that did delivery and lo and behold I suggested this spot. My bro and cousin both got the lamb and fries and I got the BBQ chicken with j*** mac (added cost) and mashed potatoes as a side. The boys enjoyed their lamb but I personally found it pathetic. There was barely any meat on it and was legit all bone. The flavor was good but that was a skinny lamb that's for sure. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were boxed so basically water mixed with dehydrated potato powder. As for the j*** mac, it was okay but there wasn't at all an equal portion of the j*** Mac to mashed potato. 3/4 was mashed potatoes and the j*** Mac that I paid two additional dollars for was only 1/4th of the portion. I wish there was one more chicken leg because it did not feel like enough meat for all the sides and for almost 20 bucks it feels like I'm paying only for sides and a bit of meat scraps. I definitely liked the meal but I couldn't say I'd be back given the prices. Though I might consider trying the Rasta pasta in the future.

Their food is delicious! My go to is the boneless j*** over fries. Topped with all the sauces (green/hot/white) and it's the best! Highly recommend you will not be disappointed.

It's definitely easy to miss this place - they're an amazing find. My only complaint is the price point! The bbq chicken, bbq lamb have all been consistently good.. they are rather stingy with the sauces though. :( Have heard that the fish broth is amazing as well.

Food is always fresh and delicious. BBQ chicken is a must try and the BBQ lamb. Sauces are delicious too!

I ordered the steak and fries it wasn't tasty, and the corn soup was watery. Maybe I ordered the wrong item.

I have only had the lamb so far - with fries, then another time with two sides. Everything was fresh and flavourful. Totally dreamy! Customer service friendly, efficient & on point. I am glad I don't live too close to this place, otherwise I would need to set up a standing order 'cause I would be getting their food every other day, if not daily! But ah coming back to try other things real soon ;-)

Food was amazing!! The lomein was a little on the bland side but the bba chicken made up for it. This j*** lamb and j*** mac and cheese with rice was to DIE for. Food is outstanding and everything is halal. Please bring back your bake and shark from back in the day that was so good!! Keep up the good work!!

I love this place. My favorite is the bbq lamb and fresh fries of the fried shrimps and French fries. I must give this place a try. Worth the hype

First, I am speaking on delivery . I remember when this establishment first opened they were great. After a while it went terrible . The employees were rude , food was charred and just a disaster. After visiting this neighborhood after years I can say the new reviews are great . I called and was put on hold but was spoke to in order that the call was received . I used Uber Eats and the owner/ manager put a note. In a neighborhood where people are rude , hang up on you, don't follow instructions this was very much appreciated . I live in the city so usually separate packing is not a problem . I guess people here maybe take advantage? Also their macaroni pie is like home food from Trinidad and Tobago. They use the long spaghetti and not the short elbow macaroni, which is pretty much macaroni and cheese. Thank you . Keep up the good work .

So happy this place delivers to Forest Hills! Food was delicious. BBQ chicken is juicy and flavorful. Cole slaw and Mac n cheese pie were great. Rice and beans are good too, but better with sauce. Will definitely eat from here again.

I've ordered from here at least 70 times over the last couple of years... it's that good. I've been a customer since the very first month the original restaurant in this space opened up, T&T BBQ Hut. The original owners put a lot of care and love into the space, but they eventually sold the business. Things went down the tubes, hard, and quick... so if you see poor reviews from a few years ago, that's probably why. I believe new management took over just before the pandemic hit, and completely turned it around. It's just as good as it used to be when it first opened - and better - because they have online ordering now, and the food arrives fresh and hot. The chicken is juicy and tastes great, and the sides are always fresh, and the sauces are consistently good. You might see some complaints about the prices in the other reviews, and that's mostly due to the location. Food in the general vicinity skews extremely cheap, so that's what the neighborhood usually expects. But the quality is often mediocre, and the service is nonexistent, in many of the nearby places. This place prices its items to reflect the fresh, quality ingredients they use. And, if you haven't noticed, food costs have risen starkly since 2020. Lastly, they exclusively use halal meats, which is the only reason I'm a customer, but this also adds to their costs. Overall, it's an excellent place and worth trying if you're in the area.

The BBQ lamb with all the sauces is awesome!!!! It has to be one of the best things I've ever ate and possibly the best lamb I've ever had! This place is a must try! I'll definitely be coming back every time I come home from MD. DON'T MISS OUT!!!

This spot is my go to spot for some KICK A** Corn Soup and J*** Chicken w/ Lo Mein!! AVE BBQH is a Trini restaurant but their J*** chicken is thee bomb!! It sometimes has a slight char on the outside, always tender and well seasoned with a hint of charcoal. I normally request that they put bbq sauce and PEPPER sauce on mine. I'm SPICY! lol The corn soup is made caribbean style of course, so its pretty hearty, not watery at all. Perfect consistency! Excellent appetizer and comfort food. Of course I usually get a side of sweet plantains to complete my meal. It compliments EVERY caribbean dish! Next time i order from here, I think i'll try the BBQ chicken or the lamb to see what the hype is about! Ciao!
