The Horse and Hound is a gem. If you appreciate sincere, old-timey spots with care in their cooking and depth in their pours (and limitless coziness in their walls), you need not look a step further. This is the kind of place that all bar/restaurants should strive to be.

A bit too dark for me. Otherwise, everything was very good. Pleasant staff and food was delicious.

It’s a charming find on an out of the way street, my son and I go every month to catch up and it never disappoints. Call us semi-regulars. The food is fine, typical pub fare with a few surprises, well executed. We eat at the bar, Sam and Frank are the best!

Charming location, but the vibe from the staff was tired and indifferent.

The patio is a beautiful setting on a summer evening, but they somehow were out of almost all of their draft and bottled beers on a Thursday. No problem, we settled for watery lagers and appetizers. None of the appetizers were very good and the service was slapdash at best.

We went there for "Sips and Snacks" which is a cocktail making demo and hors d’oeuvres/appetizers. We got to sample approx 4 cocktails (French 75, Moscow Mule, Whiskey sour and I can't remember the rest). We watched a bartender demo how to make them. We also had an appetizer to accompany each cocktail (beef crostini, crab cake, roasted beet salad, strawberries and marscapone. There could be one more that I'm forgetting.). The event was scheduled from 5:30-7:30, but it was over in about an hour.

I have been coming here for years. Every time I'm back in Pound Ridge, whenever my family has a need to gather. This is the best restaurant and pub anywhere for my taste. Sue and her staff are always amazing. I look forward to my next visit.

Average food, nice atmosphere, very slow service. $ for experience should be considered.
