Checked out this restaurant for a Valentines dinner , and it was exceptional. We kind of ordered way too much so that we could try a little bit of everything , and it was alllll so delicious. The staff was very warm and attentive , and gave you a feel that you were "at home". The new decor and ambiance was very peaceful and relaxing. Is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the Hamptons now and will be back very soon ! Highly recommend.

We were excited to try this place given the good reviews. Maybe it was an off night but we won’t be going back given other good Mexican restaurants we’ve found in the Hamptons (K Pasa in Sag, Cilantros takeout in Sag). We first sat at the bar and enjoyed a snack - birria sushi which was tasty and hit the spot while we waited for our table (we were early). When we were seated for dinner, the chips, guac and crudite were excellent and I’m so glad we ordered that because that was ultimately what I ate for dinner. I ordered the duck carnitas with lettuce wraps and the duck was so tough, stringy and chewy it was inedible and also saturated in oil and overly salted. It was really disappointing. My husband ordered the birria tacos which left a trail of oil after every bite.Atmosphere-wise, they don’t have a way to block the wind and cold air as the door is opening and we were seated right next to the door so it was really unpleasant. They need a curtain or something to block the wind for anyone in that vicinity. The Service wasn’t the worst. The host jumped in to help us order when our server was with the bartender waiting for drinks for other tables, etc, so it was fine. I didn’t complain about the duck because I thought maybe it was just me. I woke up this morning confused why it was so crowded and why there were so many good reviews that I wanted to share our experience, so hope this helps!

went here on a weekday, 1 server not busy, i got birria tacos and the ribeye tacos with elote, broccoli, and brussels sprouts, both tacos were good but the other apps was not the best. and food is a little over priced for 2 tacos an order.

Positive: Excellent friendly service. Attractive décor. Nice margaritas! Chile Relleno delicious, but portion too small.Negative: Pollo a las Brasas was inedible. Chicken tough. Not chewable. Very pricy.

Nice spot! They’re trying a bit too hard with their menu, but given it’s not your typical traditional Mexican restaurant, and more of an upscale spot, I can see why they sophisticated the dishes a bit.

We had very high hopes when choosing to dine for lunch at El Verano. The ambiance is lovely. The restaurant falls way short on food. I ordered a burrito which was $40!!!!! As an accompaniment there was a smattering of potato chips , yes potato chips on my plate. I know this is Southampton and expect restaurants to be a bit expensive but I felt taken advantage of!!!!!! My friend had 2 small fish tacos for $38!!!! No wonder the restaurant was empty. The food was ordinary at best. I do not recommend this place at all. What I do recommend is that the owner/chef take a look at their business model and make some adjustments. If they don't they will not last a season. We both took a good look around at the restaurant because we will never go back.

I have now had 3 meals at this restaurant - 2 lunches and 1 dinner. Food is exceptional, service is spectacular however the drink and wine prices are very steep. So enjoyed the fish tacos, baked clams, the branzino a las brasas, Guacamole and chips were great! And the ensalada el verano was superb!
