Fantastic lunch menu. The turkey & brie sandwich (“The Southampton”) was excellent

Food was good, but the service was not. Overall rude customer service. I simply ordered a drink that was in a refrigerator behind the counter so when my food arrived, I asked the cashier/waitress for it and she replied by saying "you could have gotten it yourself." Mind you this was the first time I have ever been here and I will not be returning. Please do better, this is not the way to treat your clientele.

I have been going there since it opened. I stopped for the most part because their prices became unbelievably high. I went in to get my favorite sandwich to treat myself. The same sandwich 17 years ago was $6.95. I just paid $18 for not even the same sandwich! They changed the sourdough rolls, which are awful, the sandwich doesn't taste the same at all. They offer a side of salad or a roll or something to go with it. So I asked for the salad. It was so soggy and clearly from the day before that I couldn't even eat it. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I want my money back. They have lost yet another long time customer, who used to go there everyday when they had more affordable prices and better food and service. Never going there again! I wouldn't advise it to anyone!

My flagel was stale as h*ll. We had to wait quite some time for the egg sandwich and there is no room to wait. Wherever we waited we were in the way. Too many tables for the tight squeeze. The egg sandwich was very good.

No order here sign so people will be cutting you. How is a small coffee $5?

Hadn't been here in years--it used to be my daily lunch haunt. The service staff are cold and barely pleasant. The highly overpriced, $17, spinach mushroom sheet pan quiche which I ordered had a very strange consistency, not much cheese and lacked flavor. Nothing about this visit has me inclined to ever return. Very sad that a place once so good has tumbled so far.

There is no cheese in the vegetarian chili. There was nothing in it that would not be vegan. There were kidney beans, chickpeas, fine carrot slices, onions, a little curry flavor and a little spice. It was good and filling. The iced tea had orange, lime, and a lemon slice. It was really good. My husband had a fruit salad which was fresh and had a great mixture of fruit.

Seems like it's food and service have gone down in the past year.

It's a popular spot for locals, but it DOESNT TREAT VISITORS WELL. The line was NOT ORGANIZED at all and frankly, it did not seem to matter because my friend got cut in line by the person behind her because he seemed to know the owner. The same happened with another group of regulars in terms of order of food. We got our coffee and food after those who seemed to be regulars which was really disappointing. I understand that food may have different preparation times, but I got an iced coffee and my friend got a latte so I don't understand why it took longer than the regulars who had more complicated orders. It appears that the person who takes your order will also be the person who serves your order. After ordering an iced coffee, I waited around 15 minutes as the person who took my order (AKA THE OWNER) went around talking to the regular customers who were sitting as he was sipping his drink. Instead of sitting at my table, I went to check on the coffee because I noticed other people who went after me already got their coffee orders. Only after my server/owner, noticed me standing at the coffee pick-up table, did he remember that I ordered an iced coffee. It was coffee and ice. I don't understand why it took as long as it did... It was also unfortunately acidic so not worth the wait... The structure of the restaurant also has quite a few issues. The organization of the cash registers was really inefficient. There were six registers, two of the pair of registers block each other, allowing only one person to be served. In order for me to pay I had to YELL MY ORDER AND PAY OVER THE PERSON INFRONT of me. The other two registers were near the coffee area where most of the customers go to because thats where the line ends. The coffee area is quite messy and you might get away with a free coffee because one of the customers had to ASK TO PAY FOR HER COFFEE MULTIPLE TIMES before actually paying. This customer actually looked over at me and asked me if SHE WAS INVISIBLE because the server did not respond to her and I genuinely felt bad for her. In addition, there were so many servers to help the customers. While I went during a busy time, there were so many staff members behind the counter who only seemed to be waiting around. This is a bitter review, but I have to give credit where it is due. If you survive the lack of efficiency and care for its non-regular customers, the food was actually pretty good. I got a warm panini which was yummy. I wouldn't recommend the iced coffee as it was rather acidic and bitter like the taste left in my mouth from the experience, but my friend said her latte was good, so I would suggest going for the latte. TLDR Priority is given to regulars with ordering, getting their orders, etc. So unless you are a regular or the cafe is empty at the time, you will likely be treated as less. :(

ASK KEITH DAVIS: Before you give them a dollar of your money, ask them how they managed to raise capital from "investors". Also ask them about the class action legal settlement made with some investors who never received a penny for their investments and had to litigate. While you are at at it, ask them how they managed to maintain their business for decades while investors were told that their investments were worth nothing as the company has no profits. Ask them how they justify taking seed money from individuals and in over twenty years not returning a dividend, profit or any financial benefit. Ask them how their company can succeed, but the investors are told that there is no profit.

i do not understand why this place is so popular. Mediocre latte, the driest scone I have ever tasted (literally cardboard) & a decent breakfast burrito. Also, it is against NY state law to impose a surcharge for a credit card without clearly listing the different prices on each item for cash vs card.
