Very cute restaurant. Our waitress was super sweet and very friendly and went out of her way to make sure we got a great spot as we had a two month old baby with us. Food is excellent service the same. Highly recommended and would definitely visit again if I were in town .

We sat on the patio so it was quiet. Our server, Emily was professional m, fun and effective. The fish tacos delicious. I had a perfect beet salad and our friends enjoyed their specials of a huge pork chop and a nice preparation of shrimp and scallops. We'd return happily

Very noisy and crowded. Told it’s always busy when prime ribs are on special. Couldn’t hear each other talk with so many people around us speaking so loudly. Nothing in the room to absorb sound. Food was good.

Vegetarian options: Veggie burger if you don’t eat fish.

Food was good, but there was not enough staff working. There were only two servers. Tbese poor servers had to be the hostess and the bus servers also. They were both super friendly and weee working their butts off but service was slow.

This place has a lot of potential but could use some upgrading (outside patio) The food is fine and fairly priced. Our server was attentive. The "welcoming" person at the front desk was borderline rude. She barely acknowledged our presence. We were told there was live music outside but it stopped 5 minutes after we sat down.

Sophie’s rest is definitely a place to go if you want fresh and amazing cooked food. It’s definitely catered to locals rather than tourists, which is what we wanted. We were a party of six, four adults and two kids.
We arrived around 7:15 and they had a table for us open. We would have preferred outdoor seating but they do not have any outdoor lighting. The place is super cute and comfortable. It feels as if the restaurant was created around the plans of an actual house. We sat in the dining area which felt like the porch, great lighting and the outside view. They had seating in the bar area as well.
The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. They do not have a kids menu but there are options for kids. For our kids we ordered the pizza that they shared and they loved it. It was thin crust and very cheesy. I do wish they had a plain penne for kids but it’s okay!
Before I get into the adult food, I will say this. GET THE DIRTY MARTINI WITH GIN. I had one and it must have been the best one I had in a really long time. They even ask you want brand you want and they have it!
Now onto the food!
For an appetizer we all shared the stuffies, ceviche, and calamari. The show stealer was the ceviche. I wish they add more seafood than veggies because the variety and freshness of the seafood was incredibly delicious. I’m not sure if the calamari was fresh or frozen but it was damn good and NOT chewy. The stuffies were perfectly cooked and it was the second favorite of the table.
My dinner was the lobster clam bake. Omfg. It is WORTH the $$$. The lobster is fresh and whole. The clams and mussels were a bit dry but the butter helped that. My kids ate the corn and the potatoes were boiled perfectly. The only thing that skeeved me a bit was that the shrimp weren’t deveined. My husband had the fish and chips and that was incredible as well. The fish melted in your mouth. Our guests had the fisherman’s platter and it was filled with deliciousness.
We didn’t get dessert because we were stuffed but their options were definitely tempting.

The service was good. I felt like they are a bit understaffed or overwhelmed. We did wait a bit for food but the wait was worth it. I’d rather have fresh food that I would enjoy versus food that’s nuked in a microwave and served.

Definitely give this place a try if you are thinking about it!

Great little place tucked away. Sophie’s has cozy indoor dining with Ann outdoor patio for the warmer weather.

Not crowded; served in small room in the back-clean & not noisy. Great waitress -accommodating and attentive. Great for a casual & good atmosphere! Recommend to all the north fork area.

Whenever we are back in town we ALWAYS stop in for at least one dinner and are never disappointed. The horseradish encrusted salmon with the macadamia nut rice cake was delicious! My wife had the garlic shrimp scampi. Outstanding. Service is always great. Good people. Good food. What else can you ask for? :-)

Dined there sat early dinner. Bar was full of noisey obnoxious drunks that were spilling over into dining room.We were just trying to have a quiet meal and it didn't happen. Our waitress made no attempt to take control of a terrible situation of extremely foul mouthed drunks within 10feet of our table. As a matter of fact another waitress joined these rude idiots in their rude behaviour. Worst night dining ever and im 74yrs old. The new owners better shape up or one of those drunken morons is going to leave there in a car and kill someone..

Excellent food with very good service, and the drinks were yummy too! It's just a rock solid choice for dinner in Greenport!

Sophies is quite a unique place. The food was the saving grace, and if the chef ever left I’d probably never go back. Various issues like waiting 15min sitting at our table to get drinks ordered, water sitting empty for half the meal, and general disinterest in providing good service from our waitress, all lead to a mediocre experience. The burger and Lobster Bisque however, were top tier compared to others I’ve had, and are the only reason this is 3 star instead of 2 star. I’d say definitely try this place, but get it to go if you want a better experience.

As a former waitress, I felt sorry for the ONE waitress that was on duty last night. She was doing a GREAT job, just overwhelmed. Even two waitresses would have been very busy. We all felt very badly for her.
