My boyfriend and I frequent Roost almost once a week for date night! We absolutely love it, from the ambience to service. Always exceeds our expectations! We always start with bread service from Balthazar along with the appetizer portion of the Shrimp with Plantains! A must! The quality of meats is always fresh along with sides and sauces to accompany. A Sparkill Staple ❤️

I had received a flyer for Roost and then someone happened to mention it so when our neighbors suggested dinner, we tried it. Food was delicious. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals. The ambience is very nice too.
A wonderful enchanting evening of unbelievable food, music and dance.

Ordered a medium steak. got a well done steak. the waitress could clearly see I was struggling to chew and couldn’t get it down. the chef told us it would take more than 30mins to cook the steak again. the patatas bravas was stale and tasted like they refried the old ones. and the restaurant manager didn’t even apologize lol. This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to my entire life and I have travelled around and lived in multiples countries and cities in my lifetime. We came here for my mother’s birthday and I’m leaving with such. bad state in my mouth. Extremely unprofessional and lazy. “there is absolutely nothing I can do for this” was the response.

Charming restaurant in Sparkhill, very friendly service from Michelle at the front door to Carlos , our server and a very attentive support staff.
Nice decor, and a cool vibe!!
Food was amazing, Calamari, smoked fish platter and delicious mussels with chorizo and jalapeño were perfect appetizers to share followed by a perfectly cooked New York strip, Shrimp with plantains and fresh pasta with Maine lobster were the entrees that were OFF THE CHARTS!!!
Thank you for a lovely evening, we will definitely be back!!!

Slow start with 30 minutes wait before service and almost an hr before food came to table. Otherwise great. Warm and inviting ambiance. Food was fresh and delicious. So was dessert and drinks.

I had my welcome party for my wedding upstairs at Roost and it was indescribable. The room itself was perfect, the art, the bar, the tables, everything was stunning. Maria had an amazing piano player who added an elegant touch. The cocktails were delicious and flowing. The food was TOO GOOD, everything from the passed hors-deserves to the meat carving station blew us (and our guests) away. People still come up to us raving about the delicious food and elegance of the party. All thanks to Maria (who was also so easy and amazing to work with) !! Roost is an 11/10

Roost has an amazing modern nostalgic vibe. The bar is led by Rockland’s best bartender, Oz, he is a mixologist wizard and has the warmest personality. The food is delicious and consistent. I enjoyed one of the best steaks in years last evening, it was one of several specials, 21-day dry aged ribeye. You could smell the aged beef and it was perfectly seasone & cooked medium rare, no need for the au poivre sauce which was also delicious. My wife enjoyed another special of the day a lobster burrito, large pieces of delicious lobster perfectly prepared. My daughter had the roast chicken & my brother in law the NY Strip also out of this world. The potato soup and east coast oysters were equally as good. Roost has become our favorite restaurant in the Rockland Area. We can’t wait to return, even if just for a quick cocktail with Oz!

The food was great, however, too many customers meant less attention given when ordering that can lead to frustration. Plan to go there.. and expect at least one hour.

Service stunk! Food was good though.
I just have to share the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant, courtesy of Roost in Sparkill, NY. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare. It came out clearly overcooked. I took a few bites to see if it was maybe edible because I really don't like complaining, but it wasn't. So I told the waiter the steak is overcooked. He took it to the kitchen and then brought it back to me, cut in half, and said the chef considers this medium rare. They returned the overcooked steak to me and told me to eat it as it is. It was horrible. This "chef" needs to learn what medium rare is. I was appalled. Everyone I was with was appalled. Check out the other reviews about incorrectly cooked steaks, this is a theme at this restaurant. Don't waste your money here.
Surprised this place only has 4 stars. Should honestly be 5. Mussels, scallop chowder, and burger were all phenomenal. Did I emphasize the scallop chowder? One of the best soups I’ve had. Coming from a Bergen county foodie, this place marks all the checks. I’ll definitely be back here! 10/10 I recommend.
