I want to start by saying I’m not the type of person who leaves bad reviews. It’s not something I normally do.
That being said, I actually really enjoy the food at Avocado Sushi. However, their customer service is so horrendous that I will never order from them again.
Up until now, I’ve ordered from this restaurant at least once—and sometimes twice—a week for the past couple of years. I have no complaints about the food itself. But now, after years of being a loyal customer, I will never give them my business again.
The other night, I placed an order. About an hour went by, and I checked my app to see that several Dashers had gone to the restaurant and left without picking up my order. After another 30 minutes passed, DoorDash canceled my order and refunded the money I had spent on it. I assumed the restaurant was closed or something. I called them to ask if they were open, and the woman who answered said yes. So, I asked if she knew why my order wasn’t picked up. She told me they had given the food to the wrong Dasher, who left with it, and it was lost. I told her it wasn’t a problem—accidents happen.
After I hung up, I placed the exact same order again using the credits DoorDash had refunded me for the original order that was never delivered. The restaurant called me back and told me they would not make my order unless I ordered directly from them. The woman explained that because the first order never got delivered, they hadn’t received the $60 I’d paid through DoorDash. She said her manager wouldn’t allow her to make the new order I had just placed.
I was being very nice about it and explained that it was too late for me to order directly from them—I had already placed the order again on DoorDash and been charged for it. If I placed the order through them, I would effectively be paying twice for my food. I told her this was an issue they needed to take up with DoorDash, not me, as I’m the customer. She said she’d speak to her manager and hung up.
Forty minutes went by, and I saw that several Dashers had again gone to the restaurant and left without my order. I called back to ask if they had resolved the issue. She told me once more that her manager wouldn’t allow them to make the food since they hadn’t received payment for the first order, which they had given to the wrong Dasher. They outright refused to make the food.
Now I was agitated and told her, “If you’re not going to make my food, please cancel it so I can order from somewhere else.” She refused. So, I spent the next 20 minutes on the phone with DoorDash canceling it myself.
I still have no idea why they would refuse to fill the second order I paid for. I understand their frustration with DoorDash, but what does that have to do with me? That’s no way to treat a frequent customer who did nothing wrong. These people have no desire to keep their customers happy. Instead of taking a $60 loss and moving on, they decided to hold my food hostage and ruin my night.
I’ve literally spent thousands of dollars at this place and intended to keep doing so for years to come. But now, I will never order from them again because of how they handled this.

The food is good but the portion sizes were extremely disappointing for how much we paid. The sushi had literally a quarter sized ball of rice under it and pieces of fish was extremely thin. The rolls also had just pieces of rice speckled onto the seaweed. The food isn't worth the price. Super disappointed. We won't return here again.

Prices are cheap for sushi and food quality is lower end. This is probably a situation where you get what you pay for, but if you're ordering sushi, you probably want to pay a little more to ensure you aren't eating something that will make you sick.

Some of the most inedible food I’ve ever had in my life. Not to mention the delivery driver was rude as hell. I would rather deep fry my own shoe after running 10 miles and eat it then order from this place again. I’m tempted to call the authorities for this restaurant’s assault on my taste buds.
I usually order from Fushimi but since i moved to this neighborhood i gave it a try, what a waist of my money. I will NOT order again from this place, how wrong can a chicken fried rice can be to don’t mention the others….
Charged me a much higher price than the menu had advertised. I brought it up, they said they changed the price. I stated that this was the price in the menu, they stated it was an old menu... there should be some kind of law about this, I know that in a grocery store if the wrong price is listed they have to honor it anyway
Not fresh. Doesn't taste as it is supposed to taste. I will not order again.
