Before I start this review... 5 stars?!! Either these ppl are friends or relatives of thee owners or they are just trying to give support to a small black owned business in their area but 5 stars is delusional!!! Now they could have also had parents who can't cook and have destroyed their taste buds or ability to know the difference between good and bad food. Woosaw...1st off if you drive too fast, you may miss this place. It's a tiny space on a corner. Possibly only 10' wide. But I've been to hole in the walls that have knocked my socks off. This is not that place. To start, service will be slow. The cook does not use gloves which almost made me leave to start. Let me go on record to say, this cooked then microwaved mac and cheese is the worst I've ever tasted. Took a bite of this hard thing and spat it out. Fries horrible. Chicken is seasoned well and may be thee only thing edible there. Collard greens are good. Looks like a place that would take cash only but they do accept cards. 1st visit, last visit. No offense but I'm offended.

The food is AMAZING! The portions are generous, it's packaged nicely and it seasoned to perfection. This place is small, far from being fancy but the food is AMAZING. This place is literally five minutes away from my house and this is the first time I've ordered from them, it definitely won't be the last time...

I cook southern food and is very picky about where I get my family’s food from. I usually cook it myself, however I trust and had Al’s food for a while now! It is absolutely delicious and whenever I have a party or need to get southern food quick I come to Al’s kitchen! Don’t let the shop fool you! This is the best soul food you gonna fond on the island!

I've never had so much fun having a meal. The food wasn't just delicious; it was also incredibly interesting. Each dish served was like a piece of contemporary art. They're designed not just to please the senses, but to engage with them too. You wonder WHAT you're looking at, but you also see that it's beautiful. The head chef plated our dessert himself, which was really cool. My favorite dish was an apple flavored balloon - like it was legit floating. It was a lot of fun, biting into it, laughing at how ridiculous it was, and then hearing my helium laugh through it all. Big Al's Soul Food Kitchen really is the experience of a lifetime.
