I'm from NJ. It was well worth the quick trip over The Bayonne Bridge. The food was excellent. Hot and Sour Soup, Sizzling Go Ba. (The crispy noodles served when you sit are worth the trip!) The server was very nice. When I arrived there was no one at the bar and one table of 5 in the dining room. It was quiet. Perhaps it was because it was a holiday weekend. The prices are a little high but I will go back.

Probably the best Chinese on this side of Staten Island as far as I can tell. Price reflects the quality. It is costly. But I have not been disappointed with the food. Virtually everything there is authentic and delicious

Called this restaurant to cancel my online order instead I got yelled at by two women on the phone saying to call Uber eats to get my money back! No where on their website is it known that it is from Uber eats. I am still waiting for my refund. Horrible customer service!!! Wish I could give zero stars

The food is always amazing and I have been coming to this establishment for years. I knew them when they were under a different name. The delivery had never been a problem for me before today. My delivery driver got to my house called me multiple times demanding I come down to his car. When I had informed him I was not coming to his car, he angrily got out the car stomped to my house like a two year old and dropped my food at the bottom of my steps. He then stormed away giving me dirty looks as he went. I have never experienced such an aggressively poor delivery from another human being. I’m concerned for the safety of others whom he will deliver food to and worry that one day he will assault or hurt someone who he’s delivering food too. God forbid I went to his car there’s a multitude of things that could have happened. When you are a delivery driver you’re delivering food to the persons door it’s the bare minimum. I have a ring camera and all of the actions depicted by this driver is on film. I called the establishment and they just kept saying yes they will tell the boss without even asking me what transpired. Unfortunately now due to this review I will probably never get food here again.

I do not reccomend China New Star on Forest Avenue. Very mediocre service and the lady server had an ungrategul attitude for any tips you leave. The audacity to curse me and my family out on my way out the door almost made me want to go back to my table and take the tip off the table.

The food is very good I did not dine in nevertheless I truly believe that the food exceeded my expectations, I normally order my Chinese food from Oriental Plaza which is really good but I think that China New Star is as good, the prices are about equal maybe less than Oriental Plaza however I prioritize food quality over cost

Sad to say. This food use to be so good. Me and my mother brought $70 worth of Chinese food and all of it was rancid. Me and my mom been throwing up and had the runs all day. On top of that they gave me food I didn't order and they didn't give us any utensils. I use to love this place but never again. 🥲

Always my go to spot until recently I got an order of chicken and Broccoli and there was 3 small roaches in my order. Super disgusted and will never order food again honestly I’ll be cooking for now on. Thank you very much.

Disgusting service , I like 5 minutes away from this place yet waited an hour and 20 minutes for my food to be delivered and when the delivery man got to my house I had to walk outside to his car to get my food he then screamed at me outside of my house that 4$ tip wasn’t good enough , I went into my house to get more money for him and he tried to rob me at the door and walk away without giving me the change I asked for . Is this place kidding me ?

Hot and sour soup flimsy, not what it used to have in it..disappointing, from what they were, prices have gone up which is fine and no issue with that, but quality has gone down. Stupid calculations, the place was empty. Will find another place after 10 years!
