Ang sarap. I liked the food a lot.
Clean toilets… and traditional Chinese ambiance
My kids are big chinese food eaters i dont really like most places but for some reason everytime my kids order from here i cannot resist!! they use onky white mran chicken not the scraps most places use! flavor is so good. if i eat chinese food else where i am literally limited to sesame chicken because bad experiences with the scraps and other things. But here my kids order thai chicken with green beans of course they leave out the veggies but that dish is absolutely amazing and my picky butt almost would have never tried that!!! also thry go crazy for the chicken and broc! the dish has large nice thin pieces of good white meat chicken! and my usual seasme chicken is out of this world. their soup is great also although they used to make it with this sliced muchroom floating in it! i really miss that but this soup is great too! and tge pinapple fried rice is to die for! i dont eat things like this i am most picky person in the world!!! but the east has 100 percent broadened my horizons!! GREAT JOB WE LOVE THE FOOD!! THE DELIVERY MAN KNOWS US BY NAME AND HE IS SO SWEET!! DELIVERY IS ALWAYS FAST AND YOU NEVER WAIT LONG! AND the FOOD IS ALWAYS FRESH HOT AND DELICIOUS! The owner is amazing when we eat in! i cannot say enough! and the young lady bartender is a good time, she makes amazong drinks and always talks to you so you dibt feel luke your alone! i have worked in restaurants all my working life and good reviews from me are so hard to come by because i am very very critical but they have the IT FACTOR HERE! PLEASE GO ENJOY!!!!!!
Probably the best Cantonese Style American on Staten Island .Blows away the take out places
Head East! Try out this Asian restaurant located in the Staten Island mall. It is worth the trip! Delicious entrees and appetizers. Try the steak and pineapple or the variation on Peking duck with Bao buns instead of rice pancakes.
Before the pandemic, I used to order here every other week, good quality food. I even went to eat in person with my family and friends several times. When the pandemic came around and they had an extended close, I got out of touch with them and ordered more from Island Kitchen.
I decided to call in and reconnect with an old favorite restaurant so I placed an order for delivery and the food came pretty promptly, but when the delivery guy came and I signed the receipt, he kept on pointing to a part of the receipt that said tip with an angry look on his face. The receipt was different from any other restaurant I had seen, so I hadn't even seen it until he pointed it out, but the aggressiveness with which he acted turned me off, and I told him no. Now, usually for a pizza/Chinese delivery, I'll throw a few dollars their way if I have it lying around or add it to the check, but I had no cash and this man's entitlement rubbed me the wrong way.
He got even more aggressive after I said no, pushed my door wide open, and started pointing emphatically at the tip section of the receipt and yelling at me, demanding that I leave a tip. I explained to him that tipping is a courtesy, not a requirement, and that his attitude is making my desire to tip completely obsolete.
We went back and forth a few more times, and when he took a step into my house, that was it for me. I told him to go, tried shut my door on him, but he held it open! I was genuinely shocked. I pushed harder as he told me never to order from them again, and I told him I would be calling the restaurant. Also, keep in mind my card was already charged for the food, so I otherwise would have sent it back with him.
I immediately called the restaurant and explained the situation. She told me that tipping is required; it's an American thing. She's talking to me in a thick East Asian accent, telling me tipping is a requirement and an established American law or something. I was flabbergasted. I told her no tipping is not a requirement, it's a courtesy you gift if you deem the service good, and tipping on a delivery for a restaurant that's two blocks away from me is crazy.
I thought about asking for a manager but at that point I was done with this nonsense for the day.
Nowhere on their website or menu did it say there was a cost for delivery, and if there was, it should have been charged when I paid for the food on the initial call I ordered the food on. Also, the part of the receipt he demanded I fill out very clearly stated TIP not delivery fee.
All I know is they need a different delivery guy because that guy was aggressive, out of bounds, and extremely rude. Send me a delivery person I will actually want to tip if tips are so important to them.
In short, tipping culture has become so toxic.
Dirty, they have dirty fish tanks with fish that are barley moving . It's extremely unkept

It tasted very authentic, never expected Chinese food at the mall to be good. This place is a plus in my book.

I was a little reluctant to try because it was in the mall. But We ordered from the dim sum menu. The food was outstanding!! We had a shrimp rice roll, pork rice roll, Shumi, spare ribs with black bean, tripe with ginger, and crispy skin roast pork. All of the food was spectacular!!! Excellent flavor! I cannot wait to return for another delicious meal.

DO NOT go to this restaurant for any celebration EVER! My family and I made the reservation for my mother’s 62nd birthday last night. We ordered 10 lbs of King Crab along with 10 other dishes. First of all, the King Crab supposed to have in total 56 pieces of crab meat in shell, one king crab legs got divided into 7 little pieces, 8 legs X 7 pieces =56, as you can see in photo(that’s the photo I took right when they served, no one touched the plate yet), there isn’t close to 50 pieces, approximately 40 pieces I would say. I paid for my meals, was I not supposed to get what I paid for? If any of the kitchen staff they want a taste of King Crab, pay for it ON YOUR OWN, please! NOT stealing your customers food and make them your dinner, that’s unacceptable and rude. Second of all, Typhoon Shelter Crab( 2nd photo i posted), mostly all flour, barely any meat, I just want to say, did I pay for 10lbs of King Crab or 5lbs? Because i literally DID NOT get what I paid for and my family were still hungry from the $1000 meal last night. We celebrated our mother’s birthday once a year and King Crab was always in our list, last year, we went to a different restaurant in Brooklyn, we actually had tons of left over to bring home for next day, this year there wasn’t any leftovers, we barely have enough to split between 5 adults. Lastly, we also ordered Fried River Snails, as soon as they arrived on our dinner table, they smelled bad, real bad, so strong that after we complained and they brought them back to the kitchen that smell was still stayed on our table for few minutes long. I was very disappointed, I saw the decent reviews and thought it was only 10 mins away from our house, saved us some hassle, let’s try it. Instead, it was a horrible experience and a waste of money. Overall, I have to say, food was awful, the kitchen staff was/were a thief/ thieves, but our waiter was nice and it wasn’t his fault that their food wasn’t fresh and unreasonably, we still gave him 20% tip plus $40 tip extra, because we thought that’s fair.
Hope East Pacific will manage your restaurant better or you will lose more customers besides us, our friends and families!
