Fuel Grill & Juice Bar

I waited a full 24 hours before posting this review because my experience last night at Fuel Bar & Café was extremely disappointing, especially for a small business.

After a long and exhausting day, my husband and I placed a pickup order in a rush. Unfortunately, we accidentally placed the order through the Brooklyn location instead of Staten Island. The website prompted us to pay, so we didn’t think anything of it. When we arrived at the Staten Island location, we realized the mistake.

We truly did not think this would be a big deal. It’s the same owner, and the order was not customized—it was a #59 directly off the menu. We assumed the food in Brooklyn would go unclaimed and could easily be refrigerated or reused, as many of Fuel’s meals already are.

What happened next was shocking.

The wife called the husband right in front of us, and he said he would “deal with it tomorrow.” That did nothing to help us in the moment. We were standing there hungry, tired, and about to be sent home with no food and no refund.

We asked if they could simply prepare something for us at that location and were told the kitchen was closed—even though we walked in at 8:03 PM, and they close at 8:00 PM.

The entire interaction was incredibly unprofessional and completely lacking compassion. We explained this was an honest mistake and shared that we had been regular customers using their meal prep service bi-weekly. The wife’s response was that her husband makes those decisions and that he would call us the next day.

That phone call never happened.

No courtesy call. No follow-up. Nothing.

I feel compelled to share this because reputation matters on Staten Island, and this is not the type of small business our community should be supporting. Mistakes like this happen every day, and how a business handles them is what sets them apart.

Sending customers home with no food, no refund, and empty promises is unacceptable.

We were not looking for a free order. At the very least, they could have offered us something to go home with. Even if the Brooklyn food had to be thrown away, they still could have honored their word and called us the next day as promised.

If you own a business and cannot deal with the general public or small problems that naturally arise, you should not be in business.

Being a small business owner means being human, compassionate, and accountable—all of which were missing here.

Please be very cautious when ordering from Fuel Bar & Café. If there is any issue or mistake, do not expect help or customer service.

They were dismissive, money-focused, and showed zero concern.

Staten Island is very big on reputation and businesses do not succeed with this type of service.

Truly disgusted.

Absolutely love this place! Everything is fresh, healthy, and packed with protein. The meals are perfect for anyone looking to eat clean — from breakfast to dinner. Their protein smoothies are amazing, and the high-protein desserts are the best guilt-free treat. Love the brownies. Highly recommended!!

One of the best places I’ve ever been to when it comes to food everything is on point and very customizable to my needs. Food is absolutely delicious. If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out

Quaint little place that serves fresh juice and quality air fried dishes. Not a full service restaurant, but they'll serve you at your table avyway. Hugh quality juices both pre-made mixes for different vitamins or make your own juice combos from their selection. Priced reasonably too.

I never ever leave bad reviews but today was warranted. The guy that took the order had a tough time with English and could
Not get my address correct, even called back to verify. I gave him my credit card through the phone. When the food came, the driver said it was not paid for. I called the store and said I gave my credit card and the guy said I’m not sure there’s only 3 people working here. They ended up taking card through the phone. Then when I opened my food, there was no sour cream. Also got a kale soup and it was way too spicy so it was unbearable. I must say, I have eaten here 5 times in the past and it was always excellent. I can’t believe how far they have fallen. I will give them another shot but hopefully this message reaches the owner to square some of the things out. Communication and English skills severely lacking in the service industry is a recipe for disaster.

I love their menu and chilling vibe! The best brownies in Staten Island!

Fuel grill beats any health food spot on this island!! The food is downright delicious and so clean. Sodium content is perfect, no cooking in heavy oils! Rice is always cooked to perfection just the right amount of water! Prices are very reasonable and you get a lot of food/ portions are great. I highly recommend Fuel to everyone! Best plate to try is the Bison burger plate with white rice 🤤.
