This place has very tasty food, and is a great place to drop in and get a quick Plate on a weekday on lunch break or right after work. The only problem I have is they're inconsistent business hours. That's what drops them from 4 stars to 3.

No lie food is on point. Came out for a job interview and keep passing by the hard hat resteraunt and saw it was open. Went inside and gave my ten dollars soon as I got home the food felt like home cooking. Have not taste food like this since my moms cooking (rip). Need some cornbread? And it's over. Recconmend people to stop by the hard hat resteraunt.

Modest place with simple food served fresh. Maybe not worth a trip to Staten Island but definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.
This place is super unsanitary. I watched the gentleman make my breakfast sandwich with no gloves. Egg shell had fallen into the sandwich and he picked it out with his finger!!! Then he proceeded to wash his hands and put on gloves(too late) upon my sandwhich being done he then puts turkey bacon. I asked if he had pork bacon and he stated his customers don't eat that. (I eat pork bacon). I was aggravated and about to be late for work so i paid for it and ran out. Needless to say I will never be returning. I also will be informing all of my co workers as well!!!!

Great food, friendly staff.... The food was not over or under seasoned, the meat was tender and falling off the bone juicy, all you need to do is add some cornbread and grandma's southern coolaid and you will be crowned SI's soul food king! I'll definitely be back for more.
