The first time I came here was to show my support bc of the whole Whoopi controversary. I felt like I was 10 years old again, standing in my old neighborhood bakery and the only thing missing was the string. I purchased two shopping bags full of pastries and pies and of course had to try the charlotte russe.. WOW! Everything was fresh and amazing, even days later which is the true test of quality. Well, I was sitting in traffic on my way home to Long Island during the July 4th weekend and thought how wonderful it would be to enjoying some Holtermann's during my ride, so I stopped by again. This time I got two of everything I love; charlotte russe, lemon flips, jelly donuts, linzer tarts, assorted fruit danishes, a whoppie pie and a coffee. Again, WOW! This place is amazing and the staff is so friendly. I will be going back again and again.

Old fashioned, family owned and operated. Phenomenal coffee cake and whole wheat bread.

Real good cookies & the apple strudel is fantastic.

This place is way too overpriced,I had bought a raisin Danish ring for 9 dollars and it is average size and the lemon cookies were overpriced for at least six or 7 in a box. There are better bakeries to go to

Growing up on Staten Island my Dad went every week for rolls, crunch donuts and Charlotte Russe. They were the best! That was over 50 years ago and I now live in Bayonne. I was on Staten Island recently and stopped in to buy some Charlotte Russe to introduce them to my granddaughters. The staff was friendly and courteous. They no longer make crunch donuts 😢 and the Charlotte Russe are half the size they used to be, but still a delicious treat. My granddaughters loved them.

Friendly service but we were all (sadly), extremely disappointed by the quality of cakes and cupcakes. We tried many items that were either overly sweet, sparce in ingredients or just missing freshness. :-(

Had the displeasure of wasting my hard earned money here. I got a doughnut and an eclair, both of them tasted stale and dry As if they had been sitting there for ages, even though I got there at around 1pm. The customer service was horrible, The man seemed disgusted to be taking my order or as if she was doing me a favor, very passive aggressive, for no apparent reason. Way better bakeries in the area.

Nothing special. The donuts were so bland (other than very sweet), and kind of dry, even for earlier in the morning. The cinnamon role was the biggest disappointment. Dry, mealy and less-flavorful than the rolls you can get in the vacuum sealed tubes at the grocery. Plenty of better bakeries out there.

Mid at best. I got a crumb cake for the holidays and it was so-so. Then I tried again and recently bought a crumb cake that was not fresh, it was remarkably thin and didn't taste all that good. I would say not worth the calories, If I was going to a party and brought one of their crumb cakes I would have been embarrassed. No reason for me to go back, I guess crumb cake isn't their thing.

I found this Gem recently thanks to Whoopi,my first time here i purchased a black and white cake,a blueberry pie and a pumpernickel bread,all excellent quality and very fresh,i will be coming back for sure!!
