The service is excellent, the staff is very friendly and helpful, but we definitely didn't like the food. My daughter ordered shrimp and they didn't have any flavor or salt. My cousin ordered paella and it didn't have any flavor. I ordered ribay. The cooking was perfect, but it wasn't. It had no flavor or salt.

The food was fantastic. Service was great. Atmosphere is so nice. The music was great and not to loud. I went on a Thursday and had the fixed meal. The portions are great. And had a pitcher of white sangria. I highly recommend this place.

This place is horrendous!! The sangria stunk. The chicken was tough. Pork chop was tough. Portions were tiny. 125 dollars two people on a prefix menu!! Service was good. Would not come here again.

Been coming here for years the food is always great. My family came yesterday for a birthday. The chips and salsa they give you while you wait are great . Fried nicely with a nice warm almost chili like salsa. The house vinaigrette that comes with the salad is amazing. I frequently order the chicken villaroy as my entree and it's so good. All entrees come with family style rice and potatoes that are almost like chips but still somehow soft and almost French fry like. I finished off all my food with a chocolate mouse cake and it's amazing . Took some bites of the fried cheesecake as well and was also great . The staff are all so friendly. Highly recommend La Candela

We have not beenbto La Candela since the mid 90s and we decided to try it out after all these years,The resturant is extremely well taken care of and is very clean and considering the age and location it still offers a quaint romantic setting for peaceful quiet dining,The menu offers a variety of Mexican and Spanish dishes with a very nice selection of Mexican combo plates which include tacos, burrittos, and empanadas along with other favorites that offer you 3 choices with different meats for a nice plate of 3 different choices,I settled for the Mariscada plate which consisted of Mussels,Shrimp,Scallops and clams and I chose the Garlic sauce and it was very good,Dinners are served with a nice garden salad, basket of bread and a bowl of fresh made tortilla chips and a bowl of delicious salsa,Dinners range from $22- and up depending on what you want and the servings are quite large and well worth the cost,If you are craving Mexican or Spanish foods or a combo of both then La Candela is the resturant you need to choose,Chances are you will be leaving with a doggie bag....?

We had dinner on a Friday night at around 7:30PM. I was surprised to get a table immediately. Our drink order was immediately taken and our drinks were brought very quickly, we got chips and salsa on the table and they were good. We waited an unusual amount of time to have our order taken, I had to ask a passing server to have him send over our waiter. We ordered chicken britelo, it was a nice portion and tasted good, shrimp with a green sauce, plenty of medium sized shrimp, maybe 15 shrimp and a Mexican combo of 2 tacos and an enchilada. The mexican combo was considerably over priced for the portion received. I've seen better and bigger from Taco Bell. The meals came with salad (iceberg lettuce with a slice of tomato-nothing special), sliced fried potatoes (they were good) and yellow rice (moist and fluffy). Overall some food was good, some disappointing. The service - left me confused who our waiter was since we would be served by two different servers - I guess we were the orphan table. The check was hand written (haven't seen that since 2010) and when I paid by credit card they added the credit card surcharge onto my bill.I might go back for some items but the Mexican combo's are not worth it. I know it's a Spanish restaurant but you would think they can give bigger portions considering the price.Totally disappointed with the service and the credit surcharge.

La Candela Española is a fantastic restaurant that serves some of the best Spanish cuisine I've ever tasted. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was struck by the warm and inviting ambiance of the place. The decor is tasteful and elegant, and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. But of course, the real star of the show here is the food. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious, from the traditional tapas dishes to the main courses. The ingredients are clearly fresh and of high quality, and the chefs clearly know what they're doing in the kitchen. One standout dish for me was the paella, which was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of saffron and a generous helping of seafood. The flavors were bold and complex, and it was clear that a lot of care had gone into preparing the dish.I would highly recommend La Candela Española to anyone looking for an authentic taste of Spain in a welcoming and charming environment. The food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is simply delightful. I can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes!
