This place is about an hour away from Manhattan, but it’s a delightful experience. The food is delicious (my favorites were the pineapple curry and mango mousse), and the ambiance is extremely cozy and warm. The price is also unbeatable. Bring cash for the buffet!
Lakruwana has a very charming atmosphere. I opted for the dinner buffet, which they are known for, and I wasn't let down. The pork and lentils were delicious, along with the pineapple was so well done I had seconds. Definitely looking forward to trying additional Sri Lankan food on their menu.
The food was amazing, for the vegan options there were 2 types of rice, 3 curries, 1 dal, 2 sides and 1 dessert ! The food was very tasty and definitely not over the top spicy.
It was worth taking the ferry to staten island, would highly recommend this place. Will try to get the kottu roti next time...
