I have been to Maizal on several occasions and went there for lunch today with my dad. The food is great, the atmosphere is inviting, and the staff is friendly. I highly recommend!

The food was average at best and definitely overpriced for what you get. Surprising to see prices higher than what you'd find in Manhattan. Not worth it unless they improve either the food or the pricing.

A lovely Mexican dinner at Maizal in Clifton, Staten Island.
Known for their margaritas, I had a spicy jalapeño and my friend had the grapefruit.
For appetizers we shared queso with chorizo and a stuffed plantain with garlic shrimp.
For main courses, more shrimp: tacos, a burrito bowl and their spicy shrimp special. For dessert, churros with vanilla ice cream.
The food and the service were both good, as well.
They have a great happy hour: Monday through Thursday + Sunday all day; Friday & Saturday until 6 pm.
