My wife and I had a great experience at Max's Es-ca on 07/06/25. It was on a Sunday so it was a little slow when we got there at 6 pm. Great dining room, I impressive bar, and professional wait staff. Good selection of specials but we went for the Beef Wellington which was excellent. Serious dessert menu and cocktail list. We will be back! Not cheap but, you get what you pay for!

Had dinner with my wife yesterday. She ordered Seafood Paella from the special menu and it was over-cooked. My dish was good. When the food server took away the plates my wife’s plate was over half full. He came back in a little while and asked us how everything was? My wife told him her dish was dry and overcooked, he just said I’m sorry and continued on bringing us the check. No empathy at all that we spent a half 100 bucks on that dish.

We had our daughter's surprise graduation party at Max's Esca last night. Every single thing was outstanding- from the atmosphere, to the service, the drinks and the food. They created a beautiful, private space in the main dining room for us to decorate. Christina and Chrissy (& the rest of the staff!) took excellent care of everyone, and Nicole's cocktails were spot on. The food was incredible, as usual! Highly recommend!

I hosted a surprise birthday party for my sister yesterday evening in the pavilion and I was truly blown away by the service!! Ahead of the event, Alison was quick to respond to my outreach and extremely kind. She made planning the party the least stressful in every way. Once we arrived to decorate and set up, all the staff were so welcoming and frequently checked in on us to see if we needed a drink or any help; even Max personally checked up on us. Our tables were set up before we got there, we were allowed in the space 2.5 hours early to decorate, they immediately offered to keep our cake in the fridge, and they crafted customized menus ahead of time for our guests based on our food selection (and the food was delicious, of course!) We had plenty of space for so many decorations and enough tables for our needs (see photos). Most importantly, the service provided by Angel was incredible. I was so thankful that he made the day special for us. He checked in with me throughout the night, made the guests laugh, ensured everyone’s drinks were filled, and even brought out a lovely sparkler and candle for the cake since we didn’t have one. At the end of the night, we had so many balloons to pop and decorations to clean - once we started taking everything down, Angel told us not to worry about anything. From start to finish, I was extremely happy with planning a party here and I would absolutely do it again. Thank you SO much!!!
I'm the toughest critic. This place is top notch and moved me to write my first review about anything. Worth driving an hour or more to get to. Lamb is delish and the bread pudding is a must try. Listen to Uncle Race here. Enjoy the best things in life.

Walked in for our reservation to a nice looking place before being led out into a walled tent they set up in back that you had to walk out of to use the restroom. Waitress was nice enough but she took forever and the food was indescribably bad and absurdly overpriced. For $40 I received a plate of “risotto” that was simply undercooked rice with some frozen vegetables and parmesan cheese tossed in and a chunk of flavorless short rib on top, with the whole mess covered in some sort of disgusting balsamic vinegar tasting sauce. My wife got a pork chop with the same overpowering sauce on it with cold mashed potatoes for $35. Awful food and a terrible atmosphere. Close down, Max; the sooner the better.
