This family owned restaurant will make you feel like home. All the food was phenomenal and the service was outstanding. If you're in the area, or don't mind traveling, and in the mood for some Italian food, then come to this place. I guarantee you won't regret it. Places like these are few and far in between, this is definitely a dining experience worth having.
Tonight was our first time here and we were delighted with the food and service. Everything was delicious and the waiters were very attentive. We also enjoyed the live music! My only suggestion might be to lower the lighting a bit. We will definitely be back!

Went to Mello Bistro for my birthday dinner and it was absolutely incredible, the staff were u above and beyond hospital and the food was fantastic and the owners are an amazing family, highly recommend this very cozy

From the start this was a wonderful dining experience. We were warmly greated by owners upon entering this cozy well appointed restaurant. The food and special drinks (The Staten Island) were excellent. To start we shared the endive salad and the buratta and both were tops. I had the stuffed pork chop which was simply the best chop on the island and my wife had the short rib ravioli which she loved. The menu has a little of everything and we can't wait to go back again, perhaps on a Sat when they have live jazz in the evening. Really felt at home and Highly recomend this place. It's worth the ride from wherever you live on the island.
Speechless. We were left speechless last Saturday night while we dined to celebrate a late Valentine's evening. We were skeptical coming in because we loved Bin 5 which was the original restaurant however Mello Bistro swept us away. Romantic atmosphere with live music and kind staff. We ordered dirty martini's and I was already won over because it came with stuffed olives which makes the drink in my opinion. Fresh warm bread with olive oil and herbs was brought over immediately while we scanned the menu. It was extremely difficult to make a decision because every option sounded amazing. We finally picked the seared scallops with tomato remoulade as an appetizer which we thought was very different and delicious. For our mains I ordered the red wine braised short rib with creamy mash potatoes and rainbow carrots while my fiancé ordered the duck Al"orange with butternut squash puree. Let me tell you those plates were licked clean. We didn't want the experience to end. Everything was cooked to perfection and was so beautifully executed. Absolutely delicious hands down. We eventually asked for dessert menus but decided that our meals satisfied us exceedingly. While we waited for our check the bartender brought over two shot glasses of limoncello on the house for us to end the night. We cannot stop raving about Mello Bistro to our friends and family and are planning our next visit sooner than later. What a gem of a place! Xoxo

Where do I even begin? From the delicious food to the great staff to the cleanliness of the restaurant and to top it off getting to personally give compliments to the talented chef himself Romulo! The energy was so welcoming! What a delightful experience! As soon as we entered the restaurant we were greeted with such kind smiles and seated right away. We were taken care of by one of the owners herself Zuleica along with her sweet son Leo. The food was just so delicious especially their burrata!!!! A must have!!!! We started out with their home made bread and French onion soup, so good! The entrees were so unique and mouth watering and finally the desserts were made to perfection. I was in the mood for a cold drink but something with fruit but since I don’t drink alcohol Zuleica created the perfect drink for me. Can’t wait to go back! Thank you for having us Mello bistro!

Every dish we had was amazing. Leo our waiter was attentive and friendly. We have eaten there five times before and they have never disappointed. Lemon, pistachio crumble scallops as an appetizer. Stuffed pork chop Al Dijon & Chicken Parma vodka sauce. Desserts are outstanding. I suggest a reservation.
