Millie's of Staten Island

I’ve been to Millie’s a number of times, and I have to be honest—it never disappoints. The atmosphere is always laid-back, making it a great place to grab a drink or settle in for a good meal. They have an impressive tap list with a nice selection of craft beers. I always enjoy their house lager and IPA, and it’s great to see Two Roads on draft. If they ever add Other Half to the tap list, I might end up here every week.

Over the years I’ve worked my way through a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, and pizzas, and they’ve all been consistently good. This visit, though, was all about the steaks.

My buddy and I each ordered our own porterhouse, and to our waiter’s credit, he made sure that’s exactly what we wanted before putting the order in. We started with the clams and char-grilled oysters, and both were outstanding.

I’d heard from several friends that Millie’s steaks were exceptional, and now I’m upset I waited this long to try one. It was simply incredible. Both steaks were cooked perfectly, even though we each ordered a different temperature.

Our waiter also recommended the home fries, and he absolutely nailed that recommendation. These aren’t your typical breakfast home fries. They were thinly sliced with a beautiful char on them and reminded me of my mom’s buttery Thanksgiving potatoes. They were easily one of the highlights of the meal and are an absolute must-order. I honestly can’t wait to go back just to have them again.

From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. The entire Millie’s team was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Great food, excellent service, and a relaxed atmosphere—it’s easy to see why I keep coming back.

I ordered the Simplest thing on the menu. The Prime cheeseburger with fries. It was definitely big around 10-12 oz but was dense with absolutely No Flavor and the Fries were extremely bland as well. If you can't cook a decent Burger and fries, I just wouldn't take a chance ordering a 75-120 dollar steak.

The food preparation time was considerably longer than expected, especially given that the restaurant was not crowded at the time of our visit.

Additionally, the portion sizes did not seem proportionate to the pricing. We ordered a filet steak priced at $75 per person, which was served without any accompanying sides. Each side dish was priced separately around $12 to 14, resulting in a significantly higher overall cost for the meal.

Unfortunately, the filet steak itself was lacking in flavor and appeared to be served without adequate seasoning, which further impacted the overall dining experience.

Improvements in preparation time, value, and flavor would greatly enhance the experience

I had a surprising experience here. Came once a few years ago and it didn’t blow me away. Came back for Valentines day 2026 Wow, BLEW ME AWAY. Dry aged Ny strip was outstanding, the wood fired pizza phenomenal. Friendliest staff in the world. A great great treat. Thank you

SO Disappointed again! 1st time I was not happy with the food. This time we went because my son, dad and bf loved the porterhouse for 2 with the 2 sides. That has previously fed all 3 and leftovers. So last nite, celebrating my bf birthday on a tuesday nite, he wants the steak. The waitress tell us that it no longer comes with 2 sides and a salad! Well on staten island for $140 steak, that's nerve to serve just a plate of meat . So we order the 2 additional sides at $15 each because you need mashed and cream spinach . I'm treating, bill comes and the steak ala cart was $240! she put it in for 3 people. We knew that the porterhouse for 2 was plenty for 3 people. My bill with a few cocktails and my salad came to over $500!!! tuesday nite on staten island. NEVER again.....

Overall the food was good but we were still having appetizers and they brought our entrees

Burgers were fabulous, every dish on every table looked fantastic, restaurant is spotless and service couldn’t be better. We love this place and will definitely be regulars. Four stars instead of five,the fries were okay, but not great.
