This place is truly a hidden gem on Staten Island! I visited on my birthday, and the staff made it special with a handwritten card at my seat. The food was incredible, with 70% of ingredients imported directly from Japan. The entire team was welcoming and friendly, and the service was outstanding. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food and atmosphere.

Don’t need to go into manhattan for a Omakase experience! So many dishes, it was 5 apps and 11 for dinner. All better than the last.

I have never experienced Omakase style sushi experience before. Where you are served 1 piece at a time of the chef's determination based on what fresh fish is available. Although I thought it was a little pricey, it was worth every penny. Not something I could do often, but great for special occassion! It was an amazing experience and the chef tells you what fish and ingredients are with each offering. They also do a wine pairing that is decided by lead server as she created the pairings herself. Those near me that had it seemed very pleased. Seeing the skills of the chefs preparing each offering is part of the overall experience. I enjoyed seeing how delicate and skilled the work is and the attention to detail taken to make each presentation a work of art. Kept camera busy! A must try!!

This is the first omakase experience on the island, and that deserves recognition. The food scene in the island is constantly shifting with a lot of businesses that pop up and flounder within just a year or so. Here is to hoping things go differently for Omakase Ichi, as it certainly deserves a chance.
First off, the food selection is totally up to the chef. You can choose add-on items at the end, but the courses are largely not your fate to choose. That being said, I had 5 appetizers, 11 nigiris, and 1 dessert when I was there and it was excellent. It's well-on-par with that of omakases that you might find in Manhattan on the lower price range. But that doesn't mean the quality is bad at all. They change their menu daily due to procurement of fresh fish, 70 percent of which is allegedly from Japan. Their Toro is excellently fatty, and their rockfish and kampachi are wonderfully toothsome and clean-tasting. Some dishes you may disagree with based on preference, but the quality is unmistakable.
My favorite bite was actually the ankimo appetizer (monkfish liver). The crispy rice they import from Japan is also deliciously smoky and crunchy.
The format of omakase here is unique in that they book by time slot and everyone in a time slot should be present so that everyone eats at the same time. The chefs and servers are extremely attentive and will wait for someone to finish their course before serving the next to everyone else. The sake pairings are well-thought out and the servers keep your tea and water well filled. They also have some cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks that do not overpower the delicate sushi.
The ambience of the place is dim, like a stage, with the spotlight focused on the chefs. You can see curious bits of decor like some pottery or sake bottles behind the chef. They are like accompaniments for your eyes as you watch the chefs prepare your food before your eyes.
Overall, omakase Ichi is a good place for an islander to dip their toes in the experience of omakase. This is something new to the island and I heartily welcome it.

as someone who very frequently drives to Manhattan for Sushi, this is one of the best experiences we have had in a long time on our very own island.
this restaurant is a game changer for Staten Island and the sushi world. The experience and quality of food was unmatched. Annie did an excellent job hosting and explaining the paired drink flight as expected, the Sushi was absolutely the star of the show. I cannot wait to go back!

Wow! First let me say that the service is impeccable. Atmosphere was fine dining intimate. I loved how you could interact with the staff. Extremely happy I don’t have to go to manhattan for omakase.
The courses were delicious. The sake pairing was perfect. Top quality fish and ingredients. I don’t have enough kind words to say about the whole establishment. It brought me back to Japan and I often long for Japan. This is it, this is where you want to be. Please check them out asap!

It’s not bad. It’s delicious. I didn’t take a photo. I recommend it. The environment is very nice, but there is no udon. The wagyu is delicious, the sea urchin is delicious, and the soup is delicious. It’s a pity that you can’t drink while driving. It’s 118$ per person, which is pretty good. fair price

What an amazing experience! We went for my husband’s birthday and were greeted with a birthday card which was thoughtful. The food was delicious. The presentation was stunning. We enjoyed watching the technical precision and hearing explanations about each course. The serving staff were kind and attentive to our needs (accommodated that I don’t eat meat) and checked in regularly about drinks. Highly recommend.
This has to be my favorite new omakase restaurant. We usually go to the city for omakase and figured we would give this a try but came in with low expectations. We could not have been more wrong. From the moment you get there Annie the hostess was so pleasant and accommodating. She made us our drinks to perfection. The head sushi chef was able to craft the most delicious combinations of fish and meat. The flavors were on point with every piece we had tried. At the end Annie spent time with us and made us feel super welcome to be there. This is must place to try for omakase and you will leave both satisfied and full. We will be back. Thank you for the great time,
