Panino Rustico Staten Island

I ordered delivery from here once and later dined in once. The sandwiches on both occasions were sort of disappointing in flavor, freshness, and portion size. One of the sandwiches had chicken breast that was both thin and dry. Not worth the price, in my opinion.

The food was excellent, The service was perfect. I ordered the prosciutto mozzarella, tomato, and pesto panini. My niece ordered the chicken cutlet parmesan panini. The dessert menu was huge. There are about 10 different crepes to choose from, plus cookies, cakes, cannolis, cheesecake, etc. we split a cannoli cream, nutella, and strawberry crepe. It was amazing! The service from a waitress was exceptional. Also we interacted with two other staff who were also very good, friendly, and attentive.

I ordered (online) the P25 that comes with grilled chicken, smoked mozz and sun dried tomatoes. Instead of sun dried tomatoes ,they gave me tomato sauce. A little bit bummed bc I was really craving my sun dried tomatoes, love them 😭, but Panino Rustico hasn't failed me at all in the past so I don't mind. The fries are ALWAYS OUTTA SIGHT!! 🤎

I have been eating here for about 6 years now and tried their brooklyn locations and have always had positive experiences however today was not the case. I ordered two paninis both with prosciutto for delivery. As soon as my friend and i opened them they had a somewhat off smell but since I have always only gotten fresh food from here I didnt think much of it. We both took a bite from our sandwiches and instantly looked at each other in agreement that something was definitely off with the taste. I called the store and I told them i love their restaurant and I wasn’t seeking any type of refund but i wanted to let them know they should check the prosicutto and make sure its safe for other customers. The woman who answered the phone was extremely apologetic and very understanding which I appreciated. She put me on hold to speak to her boss who basically said that the food is fresh everyday and that the best he would do is send us two new sandwiches on the spot but there was nothing wrong with the meat. Our appetites were gone at that point so I declined. Its been around 6 hours and my friend is not feeling well. I didnt want to leave this review but I dont think I can eat here again because safety is most important and the reaction seemed to be more denial than concern. Had the boss shown more concern i would feel comfortable eating here again but now im turned off

I loved the flavors of the Panini. It looked like fresh basil which when not grown is expensive. Very delicious and the Caesar salad had a nice interesting flavor.

Today was my first time ordering from this place. I got the onion Panini with sausage, broccolini and mozzarella. It was really good. I enjoyed it a lot! Lot! I referred my friend to get the same thing and I definitely will be ordering this again. My food was still hot when I received it. That was good.

Please read !!!!!! I’ve been ordering from panino for over a year and never had a problem. I decided to order from uber eats or I think DoorDash and the food came at a decent time but that wasn’t the problem. The issue I had was the driver who delivered my food from panino. I left on the app to leave the food at the door because I have dogs who go crazy as a dog owner you understand and the driver calls me and tells me the food is here and tells me to come and get it . I explained to him that if he can leave it by the stairs and about my dog situation. He proceeds to then ask me if I tipped on the app or do I have cash? I explained to him that I don’t tip until after I receive my food which is an option if I prefer to do that . He tries to tell me that it’s too late for me to do that if I can give him the cash and I said no I didn’t have cash on me I was going to do it on the app . So then he asks me how much was I going to tip and was very rude to me in the tone of his voice and he made me feel very pressured to tip him at the moment HE wanted and how much it was so that possibly he can criticize it . I explained to him that it shouldn’t matter what I tip it’s the point of even tipping and I told him I’m gonna call your manager about it and all he said to me was “if you didn’t have money for a tip you could’ve just said so … have a happy new year “ with a sarcastic attitude. I understand that people need to make money around the holidays but TIPPING IS AN OPTION NOT A REQUIREMENT! I shouldn’t have felt pressured about tipping you at the moment you wanted because you didn’t see it on the app . I lived 5-10 minutes away by drive it’s not necessary to always tip . If I lived far away I would completely understand but like I told the owner of the place I always tip no matter what but this one time after that conversation I wasn’t doing it . I explained to the owner he’s hired/getting paid to do deliveries why do I need to feel pressured to tip if he’s getting paid to do this work anyways . Not everyone has cash to tip or maybe some people can only afford the dinner they ordered. But that wasn’t the case for me and I’m very disappointed I got treated like this . I hope this driver gets fired or at least gets in trouble for the way he speaks to someone . If he needs money so badly he should work 2 jobs then .

***Unprofessional & Rude***

I entered the restaurant and I was standing there for a while to be seated. I looked towards the bar and I saw 4 employees talking at the bar ignoring the fact that I was there. Very rude and unprofessional. Next time I rather go to a deli.

I was visiting friends in NY, and on the day of my return to FL, my girlfriend took me to Panino Rustico, where I met JACK, he was excellent and authentic New Yorker, with accent and all (adorable).. The menu choices are excellent, we had truffle fries, I had the P48 Panini (steak, mozzarella with peppers & onions) and to cap off as a desert, I had the Iced Nutella Latte... All were excellent. I love a Hot Panini and it was perfect, flavors were cheesy perfect. Even the ambiance was charming and the Service was impeccable. I truly cannot say enough. So when you go, say HI to Jack!! I order delivery frequently and the food is consistently good and packaged with care. 10/10
