Dined at Pastavino for the first time on Sunday, December 7th.
We had an early reservation for a family dinner for a party of 5.
We had an all around exceptional experience. The food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. Pricing was reasonable for the quality of the food. Staff was incredibly attentive and portions were perfect from appetizers to desserts. We had the the Zia Grazia for the table and it adequately served 5. I must add the olives were outstanding. We also had the Amalfi Focaccia and again, outstanding and served 5 adequately (requested cut into 5 pieces as opposed to 4). For entrees, the Mafaldine Bolognese was a show stopper! It was flavorful, rich and filling. Rigatoni E Burrata was very good with a sizable portion and perfect burrata. We also had the eggplant with a spicy vodka sauce and with marinara. Both dishes were exceptional and difficult to distinguish which was better. For dessert, we had the olive cake, again very good. If I had to really search for a critique, the only thing I could say is the coffee (Cortados) could have been hotter. Overall, this was a grand slam and we will be returning very soon.

We love, love, love Pastavino! It is such a gem of a restaurant. From the moment you walk in you are transported. The ambience exudes so much warmth and coziness. It is truly beautiful. The menu offers a broad selection of wonderfully prepared Italian dishes. The Caesar salad and fried calamari our just two of our favorites. We can't help but order it every time we go. The regional menu is a special treat too! I can't think of a time that I've dined there that the staff wasn't exceptional. All in all, Pastavino is a little slice of Italian restaurant heaven that we highly, highly recommend! You will not be disappointed!

Food here is always without question top notch but the service is what really sets them apart. Sergio made my family feel like part of theirs and helped me pull of the most incredible surprise for my dad’s retirement/birthday. He truly made the occasion so special and memorable and it was like we were transported to appertivo in Italy!

5 stars for customer service, atmosphere and gluten free pasta quality!

This is my third time visiting Pastavino and it never fails to impress. The GF pasta is house made and they only charge $2 extra for it, which is extremely reasonable considering other local restaurants charge a lot more than that for premade GF pasta. The GF pasta is just the right texture, density and flavor.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and unique to the cookie cutter Italian decor you see around Staten Island. It is also adjacent to the water so has great views.

The employees were extremely attentive and hospitable and although it looks and feels like an upscale restaurant, the service made you feel comfortable, relaxed and at ease. Eg. I did not finish my salad and a manager immediately came over and asked what was wrong with it (nothing was, it was just a little lemony for my preference). I guarantee if I had any complaints they would have fixed it immediately.

Highly recommend I definitely plan on returning.

We tried this place since all the reviews were great. Unfortunately, we were not impressed. Service was excellent. Portions were large. Food was mediocre. Crab cakes were soggy. The crab cake and flounder were underwhelming and tasted undercooked. The lettuce in the salad was not fresh. The broccoli tasted as if it came from the freezer-hard and chewy. For the price, I’d like to see fresher ingredients and the use of seasonal produce.

Not a fan of the restaurant scene in Staten Island where fine dining is considered an upscale pizzeria, or on of million Mexican restaurants but Pastavino is outrageous what a wonderful tasty menu and the staff was excellent the only problem I had there was why people would bring their bratty kids to a fine restaurant to disturbe other patrons trying to have a quiet night out with there loved ones bring your kids to Applebee's or Miller's steak house

Pastavino is delicious !!! Never disappoint. So tasty, enough portions for leftovers … you have to try this place you absolutely will not regret it. Decor is gorgeous, drinks are great… literally not one downside I can think of.

From the moment I walked in, I knew this place was something special. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between cozy and elegant — warm lighting, stylish décor, and a welcoming energy that instantly makes you feel at home.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They clearly care about the dining experience and have genuine pride in what they do. Every recommendation they made was spot-on!

Now, let’s talk about the food — unbelievable. Every dish was perfectly crafted, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. You can taste the quality and freshness in every bite. The chef’s creativity truly shines through — each plate felt like a work of art. The signature dish crab cakes was hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had, and the dessert? Pure perfection.

The cocktails were equally impressive — balanced, innovative, and visually stunning. It’s clear this team knows what they’re doing from start to finish.

Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit. Whether you’re coming for a special occasion, a date night, or just to treat yourself, it’s worth every penny. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!
