Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

As usual, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I came with a fairly large group of about 10 people and we all received our food at the same time. It only took about 15-20 minutes for the food to be ready. The food was delicious and the bill was pretty reasonable for such a large group.

This is a very interesting place, dingy and old looking, dirty floors, slow - I mean slow service- over 25 minutes to get coffee, low quality food and yet prices are very affordable and server is kind, food tastes good and baked foods are wonderful! However not worth a trip from Brooklyn or the city…

Gotta love Perkins.

I was here today and I couldn't believe my eyes, whites on one side colored on the other. I was so angry. I read a review on there site from a week ago and someone else seen the same problem so I decided to video what I saw and put it on TikTok. I will make sure I let the media now how perkins is doing the bull.

The food is still consistently good for this location, they have gone a bit downhill through the years, they needa fix the resturants vibe

I love this restaurant; it was the first place I visited when I arrived in the U.S. The service was excellent, and the food was great as well. We tried their burgers, pancakes and fries, and both were delicious. We visited this multiple times.

Today wasn't too bad. Food was ok and the server was pleasant. The only issue I had was trying to find her after we ordered. Took a while before she checked in on us a few times. Asked for water she said ok and 15 min later I got it. Is what it is but I have other issues going on to bother with.

Half of the hash browns were burnt. The avocado had a lot of dark black spots. And the presentation of the food was terrible. But the pancakes were okay

I would like to share a bad experience that happened to me at this Perkins restaurant at 1409 Hyland Blvd in Staten Island, and that the same thing does not happen to someone else. On Sunday morning the 27th, I stopped my car to eat there, and I had the biggest disappointment of my life, I was segregated in a way like the years of slavery, separated from the tables, on one side the whites and the blacks, it is unusual that today in 2024 this bad and ignorant practice continues to occur, I denounce and exorcise those who wish to go there to be vigilant about this bad practice of racism that is committed.

Everytime we come here all staff from the front of house to the servers are super kind and friendly--even remembering us!

That would be a huge draw alone but the classic
50s vibes American diner food served in generous portions and priced comfortably is a draw too.

And the potatoes!!! The tots and breakfast potatoes are like nothing I've ever had before superrrr good!

Not to mention the baked goods, carrot cake is my go to but I often have to take a slice to go with how full I am from dinner.

I love you Perkins! Hope you stay on the island for a long time♡

The best thing about this Perkins is their wonderful staff. I often bring my wheelchair bound mom in law and they are ALWAYS so kind and helpful. Thx u. It means a lot
