Nice cozy place. Food, service and atmosphere all pass the vibe check 😀. They do have a parking lot. It’s very small, so if you plan on going with a big party, I suggest you give them a heads up.

If you ever find yourself marooned in Staten Island land of forgotten strip malls and rogue pizza parlors and think, “There’s nothing good to eat out here,” punch yourself in the face and then head straight to Sandwich and a Pickle.

These folks didn’t just win Best Pastrami Sandwich in Staten Island they earned it. This isn’t some limp, delicounter afterthought. This is pastrami with purpose hand cut, fall apart tender, edged in black pepper and love, stacked like it’s still 1986 and no one’s heard of cholesterol. One bite and you’re somewhere between a Lower East Side Jewish deli and your babushka’s Sunday kitchen in Odessa.

It’s a fusion of Jewish and Ukrainian soul food, wrapped in the chic of a brunch spot that somehow doesn’t suck. Grandma’s heart, chef’s brain, and just enough Instagram gloss to make your annoying cousin from Brooklyn say, “Wait, this is in Staten Island?”

And then there’s the rug. Yeah. Right in the middle of the dining room. Like something The Dude himself threw down just to tie the whole damn place together. It’s not just kitsch it works. Like having lunch at your one fancy friend’s house. The one with taste, not money.

And if you don’t finish with the warmed up chocolate babka, you’re a lost cause. It’s sticky, rich, messy utterly phenomenal. Eat it with your fingers. Lick them clean. That’s what they’re for.

Sandwich and a Pickle doesn’t just serve food they serve memory, nostalgia, and a big middle finger to anyone who says Staten Island doesn’t have culinary game.

Go. Eat. And bring your appetite and your grandmother’s approval.

Very good place to eat. Both Pastrami platters and sandwiches were very fresh and delicious. Truffle fries were great also. Customer service is top notch - they accommodated our every request no matter how picky we were :-) . Highly recommend for Good food and great atmosphere.

Sandwich & Pickle offers about the best pastrami and other authentic deli meals and appetizers on Staten Island, and at prices lower than most delicatessen restaurants.

Breakfasts are excellent too. So is the corned beef.

Super size hot dogs and other wonderful specialties.

Also lovely atmosphere and super friendly staff.

A definite must try.

Very cute place. Was excited to try it with friends. We waited over 40 mins for food to arrive once we ordered. When I received my order (French toast), it was cold & hard. I didn't touch it and received 50% off. I tasted my friends' pancakes, and they left weird aftertaste. Not pictured are pastrami sandwiches, which were too thick and dry for our liking.

Ordered delivery for my office. We had a large group order. A few of the orders included chicken. All of the chicken had a stale-rubbery, off taste to it. It was definitely not fresh chicken. Felt sick after eating it. First time I tried anything from this place. I had high hopes because the food looked delicious. Very disappointed, really wanted to like this place.

Food was so so service for afternoon extremely slow . The advertised pickle as in sandwiches and pickles was disappointing to say the least.what I was expecting was a kosher style full sour pickle . What I got was a sliver of a less than hour sour slice.Harolds deli in Edison and Katz deli NYC have nothing to worry about.last but not least the music was loud surely not suitable for a restaurant. This attendee witnessed the server dancing to the music as she was preparing to bring the order to the table. Unprofessional.

Very friendly staff, let me customize my order without hesitation. Has actual brewed iced tea, not from a coffee machine. Definitely get a single latke, they were fresh and crispy. Corned beef and pastrami sammy was great too. More thinly sliced than a Katz for example. Next time need to do afternoon tea.

Really great place, I found it on a whim and was very glad I did. Excellent food! I was very surprised once I stepped in the door, like I was transported out of a cramped commercial strip.

Found this place on google maps. Ordered the chicken burger and the Manhattan delight. The chicken burger is perfectly cooked chicken schnitzel stacked on a brioche bun with fresh hand made coleslaw and pickles. It’s the a perfect chicken sandwich paired with perfectly cooked thick crinkle cut fries topped with flakey salt. The Manhattan delight has the softest pastrami and corned beef with the same coleslaw. Each bite is perfect and has a buttery taste. Let me not forget the pickles yum yum. I can’t wait to come back for breakfast. This is a must try.
