This Sofia's is the little sister to the Bay St. location, same great food and same great service, much smaller restaurant. Still gives you the Mexican vibe.

Loved the food it was very good. Went to the smaller location on Forest Ave for Brunch and was told they don't serve Brunch at this location because it's smaller. Was a little bummed about that but then I tried the ala cart menu and their food & drinks were very good. Would go again but will try there other locations on Staten Island instead

Outstanding food! Great service. This place is small but excellent. We especially loved the shrimp and corn empanadas (and I’m not usually an empanada person), and the shrimp and chorizo quesadillas. The soft tacos and black bean burritos were also great. Loved the tres leches for dessert. We’ll be back!
Kid-friendliness: Casual atmosphere made this a kid-friendly place.

is the service fee immediately added to a bill that’s over $100 less than $130 or if it’s 4 people ? if so shouldn’t it be stated somewhere that they add a service fee

Last night May 31,2024 I arrived at Sophia’s Amboy road for happy hour. There were no seats left at the bar so we decided to sit at a table and start with drinks for happy hour. We ordered two Margaritas and the server came back with our check stating it is full price for drinks since we are not sitting at the bar. Now we asked her to speak to the manager regarding this discrimination and besides we are seniors. He said this is the rule! We are somewhat regular customers and this has never happened before. Can anybody please explain since happy hour was still going on and no seats at the bar why we would be charged double for our drinks? Now we were truly disgusted by this treatment but decided to have one more drink and lost our appetite - then the server said happy hour has ended so I will charge you full price. At that point we did not order food as we expected to eat there and just went on to a diner. Treating customers like this cannot be good for business - I wonder if your staff should be retrained on how to respect people and not make up their own rules and discriminate against seniors. Unhappy customer - Thank you for hearing me out. Michele Daniele Also there is no indication stating that happy hour will only be served while seated at the bar and cannot participate if you are sitting at a table.

I went in there today and I ordered my food everyone there was pleasant the place looks awesome. I was standing in view of the individuals that were making my food and some were eating behind the counter others were picking their ear wiping their nose I hope the guy that was making my food wasn't doing the picking of the ear and the wiping of the nose and the person who was making my food I hope he was wearing gloves. You make food you should always wear gloves and I feel you shouldn't be eating in the same area behind the counter where you're making the food.Wash your hands and where gloves and when you're making food keep your hands away from your nose and your mouthThe burrito was Delicious but I was worried

When Sofia's Guac Bar first opened on Forest Ave I was really excited because I loved the Bay St location. I’ve ordered and sat down to eat here many times but after my experience today I can confidently say I will never be returning. I placed a pickup order for four burritos, chicken flautas, and guacamole. I was told that the total for my order would be $98. When I expressed confusion I was told that the chicken burritos were now $15 despite them still being listed for $13 on the online menu. Even after expressing this the price was not honored. I feel like I was extremely overcharged for these items as I’ve sat down to eat at the Bay St location, ordered more food (including cocktails), and it was still cheaper than what I paid today at the Guac Bar. To top it off, our burritos were swimming in oil and gave us all stomach pains by the end of the night. I’m so disappointed and turned off by this experience.
