Sofia's Taqueria (Amboy Rd)

Food was very good. Had Fajita Duo and Cheese Nachos. Prices were decent. Menu was limited. Problem was the flour pancakes were very small (Maybe 6" round (4) for the dinner we had. Six Tortillas would of been fine for that dinner. We asked for more and they gave us 3. Noticing the bill I WAS CHARGED for the 3 extra ($2.50)? That's Not Good Business. I have never been charged for a few extra tortillas. I will not go back or recommend. Disappointed. It was freezing in there.

Really disappointed in the service. Not sure what's happening with Sofia's. Everything used to be great! Now it's just "meh".

Delicious as usual .. service was excellent! Frozen strawberry margaritas were delicious and the best consistency! .. the only complaint and it's minor is that the serving of guacamole was smaller than usual ..

The food is always good, the drinks are even better!! A fun, lively atmosphere filled with people having a good time!

Just called to order pick up ( as I have done a few times in the past ) to get a gluten free quesadilla. Was told they no longer have this. Very sad considering they were one of my favorite.

We love going to Sofia's for birthday celebrations and special celebrations. Our favorite is the horchata flan (it's gluten free without the crispy rice) because it's amazing. The service, food, and ambiance are always top-notch.

This place was my go to. But lately food is over salted. Chips are stale. Just not what it use to be. This is based off on my experience personally i will not come back

Was in the mood for Mexican food and decided on this spot (first time). We arrived around 7:10pm. Placed an order for quac and our dinner order immediately which was enchiladas and steak fajitas. We received the chips and quac and the chips tasted stale. It took us having to call over 3 different people to explain that we wanted fresh chips (believe me people can taste when chips are stale). They sent out another plate of chips which tasted the same. It was now 8pm and we had to call someone over to ask where our food was. She then called the server to which the server said oh I’m sorry I think there was an issue in the kitchen with the tickets… we placed our order a little over 30 minutes prior. It really shouldn’t take 30+ minutes for an entree to come out on a Monday evening or anytime for that matter.

Went for dinner, great food, friendly and helpful staff, sat in a timely manner, our waiter was timely with our order and beverages, very thorough with menu. Bathroom clean and stocked. In a different occassion did take out and same experience, great service good food. Desert was amazing!

I was taking a break from sofias for while since my last experience at Bay like a year ago, but now that they are under new management (i believe they are) everything runs different now, I tried the Bay Street location last week and it was really good, now I'm trying this location at Amboy and for my surprise, the manager from the Bay Street location is here too, (how funny)
When i saw him, I knew immediately that everything was going to be great, I was also surprised that he recognized me at the moment I walked in the door, that was so nice, that make us feel really comfortable
Not so many restaurants do that
The service was great too, Chirs our server was unbelievable, and the food was great as well

Don't understand the hype. First and last visit, poor service, food came out wrong twice, ended up going to Ho Bra.

Always enjoy our meals here but felt compelled to finally mention that the veggies in the fajitas and overcooked (especially since they continue cooking on sizzling platter.)The complimentary chips are fresh and crispy, but the salsa (which is very tasty) is too chunky to scoop. Drinks are great and reasonably priced.
