Service was terrible and so was the food. We have given them ten chances but today was the worst. Wow. They brought us someone else’s food and we even said. ITS NOT OURS but they don’t speak English so it was left there for 30 min. The table next to us ordered and after one hour they left. So sad. When we finally got our meal it was cold and bad.

They must hire more bartenders,waited 25minutes to get a drink,along with everyone else .4 Bartenders to serve a packed house on a Friday night .Also may I add no busbuys to clean up the empty cups all over the place all night long .Maybe they should start with hiring a new manager !?

Your Staff is lovely. I was there on a wednesday evening and their were 2 waiters responsible for the whole restaurant. They didn't have time to take the dirty dishes from the tables where the dishes remained. Your food was delicious. You really should hire more Staff to get the restaurant in shape so your patrons don't have to view dirty dishes on the table. The ambiance really is lovely but you have to get the dirty dishes off the table.

I had a reservation for 5:30 and came in at 4:30 because I was walking on the boardwalk. All the bathrooms on the boardwalk were out of order so I asked if my 8 yr old son can use the restroom before my set time. The hostess looked me up and down and said no. I was shocked and very upset. I cancelled my reservation right away. The food isn't even that good. I just happened to be in the area relaxing by the beach. That's a terrible way to treat your customers. I'm a huge restauranter and foodie, had planned to have a few drinks at South fin over the summer but not anymore. Not getting my hard working money! I'll always remember this and I'll be telling others about my experience. Treating a kid like that?

Horrible place. Service is the worst. The wait staff is terrible, un polished , and lacks customer focus. The food was average, with no flavor. And they use very cheap ingredients. The shrimp were good and the calamari. Raw clams were not fresh. We asked for butter to dip our lobster in , and they brought out CORN OIL. It was not butter. The pasta had zero flavor. The best thing was the view that is it. This place was great before the pandemic. Now it's the pits. $ 35.00 for a dozen clams on the half shell, are you NUTS!! Every other seafood restaurant on staten Island charges around 22-24.
We shared our Diner one surf and turf and one south fin pasta with seafood. Where did you get your wait staff?? They have zero common sense. Small wine selection. $295.00 for two. I'd it was good who cares but when it is bad, sad very sad.

Service was extremely slow.The chowder soup came with a piece of “skin” on top (because it was sitting somewhere before it was served), we had to return it.Beer was in room temperature (waited too long).There was a hidden fee - 18% deck fee when the bill came but it was never communicated with us before.

Friday night, first night of summer nights was an absolute nightmare. We had a 7:30 reservation. 8:30, still no water or cocktails. Apps came out, no utensils or napkins. Waiting and waiting, we ate the baked clams with a spoon from our dip, and they were cold already. I went into the bar to get our first drinks from an hour ago. Only 2 bartenders inside. Our meals come, still no utensils or napkins. Our poor waiter had nobody to help him and was running all night. They need busboys and/or runners. We ask for another drink: no more blueberry mojito, I get a coconut one. Upon finishing it, I ask for another. A half hour passes, waiter said no more mint. I heard others saying the bar ran out of many types of alcohol. Extremely unorganized, and food isn’t even that good.

My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at The South Fin Grill on April 27th. We couldn’t have chosen s better place. From the moment we met Brittany the coordinator, we knew it was the perfect venue. The food selection was delicious and plentiful. The servers and bartender were fabulous and the ambiance of seeing the ocean made it even more special. Brittany made our special day go so smooth. She was there from the start of the party until the end. She was wonderful. We definitely recommend having a party there. We will be back for many dinners at The South Fin Grill…

The fold was exquisite. My wife enjoyed her surf and turf and i the flank steak. (Medium rare) cooked to perfection. The sautéed spinach was a treat and the fruit salads as well. The desserts ate so delicious as well. Shrimp cocktail for an appetizer was also a treat. The horse radish always pairs well

I have celebrated 3 milestone parties at South Fin and the Vanderbilt. Brittany, Michelle and Amanda are amazing. They helped make the planning and day of organizing smooth. I continue to choose these venues to celebrate with because of the attention to detail, ambiance and delicious food. Every party I have thrown has been wonderful and enjoyable for the guests! The team is extremely accommodating and thoughtful. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!!
