I used to be a regular customer. Both the food and the service could vary a great deal depending on who was working there and when you went.I liked their beefsteak gorditas the best. Their Salsa Verde, too.I got to know the family who worked there a bit in the last few years, and I felt good that I was helping to support a "Mom and Pop" enterprise. They also own (or owned?) Taqueria Puebla II in Port Richmond.For better or for worse, this restaurant must have closed up for good within the last few months. Maybe it was the victim of market saturation because a couple of other Mexican restaurants opened in the area at roughly the same time as the Mt. Carmel-St. Benedicta-St. Mary's of the Assumption parish consolidation was taking place. I just went there this afternoon and saw the gates down and the sign removed.
First off they have 5.00 trays of food but chicken an rice an beans only now there food is very good there rice ball are so good and there lentils soup is amazing great staff an u can dine in or take out never wait to long

This place was so much better When it was giovanis Mexican food the food was better and they had way better service I wonder what happened to them does anyone know if they moved anywhere else in the island they were at this location like 12 or 13 years ago when I was a teen

The food it's amazing!! Can't complain.
I ordered a burrito with no cream and when I got home the burrito was all covered with mayonnaise or some type of cream. I don’t even live close to the place so I couldn’t bring it back.
