Best quick lunch spot on the island. Hotdogs are delicious and the chili always hits the spot. They even deliver the chili if you are having a BBQ. The guy Mike is as nice as they come.

Only hot dogs I will eat. Three alarm chili is pretty good too. This man takes such pride of his cart. It's the cleanest tidiest outdoor food vendor I've ever seen and it shows through the food. This is a construction area and he has non stop customers during his hours. The hours are pretty laid back and it's only the man who owns the cart that works it so if he's sick or just takes off don't be too disappointed he will back at his usual spot eventually. I've gotten in a bad habit leaving the gym and stoping here right after since it practically across the street. If your facing a real craving for guilty food this is your stop.

Found this hot dog stand when I pulled over to take a phone call. Seems to be at a popular area right off the West Shore Expressway. With a good amount of truck drivers & school bus drivers stopping by for a quick bit while on lunch break. Grabbed 2 dogs. One with kraut and the other had his 5 alarm chili. Now that one packed a punch. The gentleman named Mike told me that he's hoping to have his truck up and running some time in the Fall. So that he can expand the menu a little bit. Apparently the recipe for the chili was from his Grandfather(Tex). Who used to have a hot dog truck on Staten Island back in the late 1960's. These places are a dying breed. I've always enjoyed those street vendors who serve Sabrett dogs in there natural casing. Just have that nice snap to it. Sit on the picnic table that's nearby and enjoy a good old fashioned family business.
Is he still in business? He's never there!!!!
