This is the best restaurant in St. George. I always enjoy eating here. I've brought several non-Staten Island, friends here who agree. They have a wonderful price fixed dinner during the week. We had mussels, a Caesar salad, filet mignon, and steak frites. Everything was delicious! The service is good and the restaurant is lovely.

Absolutely delicious as always. The short ribs and the osso busco were fantastic! The waitress was lovely and had a great sense of humor. I will return again and again as I have since I found the place in August 2025. Everyone who I have taken there loved it and has returned as well.

We asked the hostess when we made the reservation for a quiet table in the corner so we could talk. We had a lovely booth in the far right corner. Dinner was delicious. The server was phenomenal. The drinks were absolutely wonderful. The bathroom is a hoot. the ambience is excellent...we would go back at a moments notice!!

Absolutely incredible experience. The decor alone is something to go for just to see how eclectically beautiful this place is. The food is another level. Chicken martini is a must have! Fish and chips and Lamb Mediterranean salad were also top-notch. Specialty cocktails were inventive and inspiring. They gone with the wind was one of our favorites. Staff is amazing and definitely a place to not pass up.

Overall lovely experience from the second we walked in the door greeted by the lovely hostess the wait was short as the patrons were leaving to attend the Chicago concert at the St George Theater. We started with mussels in a creamy garlic sauce delicious and some raw clams so fresh I wished we ordered more. My husband had the Basement's take on chicken parm with linguine in a spicy vodka sauce I will definitely be getting that next time I had chicken martini with creamy cheesy risottos nice size portion that I had the leftovers for lunch. Our server Gianna was attentive put also gave us space there was no rush during service my dirty martini was on point with bleu cheese olives we shared a chocolate mousse cake with gresh cream and berry so fresh we were fighting over the last bite we can't wait to go back! The ambiance was warm and inviting and I love the music playing it was a perfect night

Yesterday, November 1, 2025, we stopped by to have dinner before going over to see Chicago at the St. George Theatre. They were very busy but they did not rush us and the service was great. The meal was unbelievable. I had the Short Beef Ribs and my husband had the Chicken Martini. We recommend both dishes. We have had different dishes at the Basement and they never disappoint. If you are going to theatre, it is the perfect location (the old Beso location). We recommend it highly.
Wonderful restaurant and close to concert venue. It is quite small, tables are close together and the acoustics are not good and it is hard to hear each other when the dining area and bar are full. The food is quite good and the menu varied.

Had never been to Staten Island before, and visited on Sunday to see a play across the street. Checked out the website ahead of time, and booked a table for six for Sunday Brunch. Just a terrific spot with a creative menu. Two appetizers and six different meals, and universal five-stars from the entire party. Highly recommend. If you're coming from Manhattan on the ferry, it's a five minute walk.
