Yesterday we tried to get food from here. They said the don't sell burgers or cheese steaks. They also said they only take cash. I was very surprised. This place is located right near the courthouses, the police station, the college, the ferry, and they only take cash???? Maybe they thought we didn't have cash or $$$ in the bank? I seriously doubt lawyers, clerks, officers, tourists and students carry cash like that. It's 2021 for goodness sake. That is the first time in my life that I wasn't able to get a burger in a diner. I find the whole thing suspect.

The Gavel Grill is simply rather exceptional. The Gavel Grill is a hidden treasure. Only quality. Most of the food items are wonderful, their menu is outstanding, I really like their Cheeseburger. Service was excellent and every one working here was incredibly nice and generous. Highly recommend - we will certainly be back to The Gavel Grill for more.

The workers here are very welcoming. The place is very cozy and clean. The food is delicious, I recommend the muffins. They have great coffee and unlimited servings of coffee I am on my fourth cup as I’m typing. You will not regret having had step foot here.

Oh Em Gee!!!!!! A secret jewel hidden in Staten Island. Love the breath is full love the hospitality they’re so friendly and just love them overall great place to visit great place to eat if you want a nice relaxed atmosphere and grateful I’ll go back anytime

Best chocolate chip pancakes ever!! I was staying in Staten island a year ago and we ate breakfast here everyday. I'm now back in Texas and I still have not found any that can compete with the gavel. I forgot to give my review so thought better late than never. I so wish I could eat there again!
