Best deli meats in the area!! Service is great! Small space so it gets crowded sometimes.. but that's because everyone wants what they have!!!

Some staff could use some cultural and diversity training. I did not feel welcome in this establishment I believe that when a costumer enters establishment they should be acknowledged.

I've been a loyal customer for over 15 years. My favorite deli for corn beef, Today by far was my worse experience. The sandwich maker today was rude , unprofessional, unpleasant even another customer that said he has known the owner for since the 80s asked "do theses guys bitch all the time?" Before my order I said hello how are you he just looked at me for a moment I thought he didn't hear me so I said it again , he walked right away and proceeded to ask my husband what he wanted to order , my husband said I'm with her so he just looked at me so I ordered (he got our food wrong of course) and had to remake our sandwiches. He was so rude and when he Slammed the hood of the grill I wanted to watch him make my sandwich today was bad. Ask the cashier she will tell you.

I came here with the highest of hopes, to see if they are any better than Steve's Deli up the road (which I like). So much for first impressions. Star Deli is small, dimly lit, and nothing fresh is on display (I think the refrigerated display case said it was out of order maybe - totally empty) - but worst of all for me, was just standing there like a dope while the workers (with unhappy faces I might add) did not even acknowledge my presence - I was the only person there and apparently it was too much trouble for them to greet me - zero eye contact... so I left and never got to try their food. I will not go back and I resent that they wasted my time.

I purchased a Tuna Melt on Rye the worst sandwich ever , the bread was hard the tuna had no flavor dang were the sweet relish?? the cole slaw I asked on the side was also nasty, oh yea don't let me forget about the nasty pickles NO love in that sandwich at all!! The worst experience was really disappointed and surprised heard it was a good place I guess the only sandwich they are good for is their Corn beef!

One of my absolute favorites of all time. We have been coming here for years, and the food is always delicious. If you order soup, they will offer you bread heels for free too!

Not like it use to be. The onion roll was cold. The tomato was at the end. I've had better back in the day.

Let me first begin by saying I have been going to Star Deli for over 25 years. Even after I moved about an hour away, I would still make the drive to get delicious, quality corned beef for a somewhat higher price. I would love to see the owner and his son in the establishment working side by side to ensure great quality and great service. I am sad to say, I will no longer be making the drive. I went for a visit and purchased a corned been that is now a dollar and some change lower than $20. That's a huge cost for a sandwich. My expectation would be that it would at least be the same quality and a decent amount of corned beef to substantiate the cost. Bear in mind, I am not saying they needed to add more than what they have used in the past; however, I am saying maintain the sandwich as it had been to justify the additional cost. Unfortunately, this is not the case. I received a sandwich that didn't even make it close to the edges of the rye bread. In fact, the height of the sandwich could be compared to that of a double meat salami sandwich. It was more bread than meat. I cannot substantiate paying almost $20 for rye bread and a spit of meat. For those of you that may want to retort with comments around inflation and the like, I recently went to the infamous Katz deli in NY and their sandwiches are large and outstanding with cost similar to Star Deli. The difference is, they know their customers will frequent the business and pay the price to get quality food at a price that coincides with the value. It is a sad day that I will no longer go to Star Deli.

The best corned beef sandwiches around. All the sandwiches are good. Wish we had this type of corned beef on the east side. Great rye bread, corned beef is very tender and tasty. Its worth the drive, while there, try their cheesecake, strictly New York We always get two sandwiches, eat one in the car before going home, its THAT good. Try the bagels at the store next door, authentic

It has been a while since my last visit but since I was in the area, it was the perfect opportunity to stop in. Star Deli is tiny compared to other suburban places, set up for to-go only. It makes use of its space well though. There are refrigerated cases filled with cold beverages, shelves of potato chips, and various candy bars and snack cakes. Despite the temptations, I only wanted a corned beef sandwich: a stack of lean corned beef, cole slaw, and cheese on fresh, sturdy rye bread. This was a good choice. I enjoyed the tasty sandwich, a combination of flavors and textures. The staff was friendly and cordial toward me and had a great rapport with each other. In the 5 minutes that it took to make my sandwich, I checked out the merchandise and listened to the easy conversation between the team members.

The only reason this deli has stars on Yelp is that their positive reviews from over 4 years ago were all 5 stars - this is no longer the case! High prices are one thing, but add on bad attitudes and below average food - it earns its ranking. The service was rude (dark hair woman with large glasses) and the prices are very high - beyond what you'd expect from traditional increases. They are charging more than Zingerman's yet providing below average sandwiches. My total was $18 for their Turkey special which had average size white bread, Kroger style turkey meat, one slice of Swiss, slaw, and dollop of dressing.
