Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet

We (party of 6) were surprised that 12% was added to our bill for the Sushi guys on top of our tip for the service. To sum it up we spent an additional $55 for the tips alone. If you are charging 12% for the Sushi guys why do you still have the tip box by the Sushi counter? I'm not being cheap but I'm thinking of other customers who would like to eat at Umi but their wallet is budgeted? Tip is always or should be double the tax and now you added another 12% to the bill? Another thing, you have removed the lobster from your menu for a year now. Why don't you remove the picture of the lobster from your menu? You are enticing people for an item you don't serve. Your food selection is still great. We have been patronizing you since you opened and I hope you'll serve the Island for a long time.

This is one place I highly recommend
Monday to Friday for lunch is the best. The food is fresh. Especially, sashimi and sushi. I am not try to be bias, but I love Umi. You can have hot pot and buffet at the same time. So far,I think Umi could be the 👑 eatry on Staten Island. I never have any issue after I ate there. .

Clean, nicely decorated, spacious. Now the food-- some decent options, not a whole lot, sushi bar option is cool, bbq section is cool too. The food that was for the all-you-can-eat part? Had 👏 no 👏 flavor. I'm not sure if we went on an off day but it tasted flavor-less. My guest also felt the same way. We kept trying but a very few things had flavor. We eventually gave up. The deep fried crab was very tasty- I'll give them that. I did enjoy the crab.
I would give it another try but it will be a vbery skeptical next try.

Great beautiful place good food and drinks very nice and clean the negative of this place which is i would say very off is the drink refill they take ur cup and bring back the same one so if you have fish shrimp craw fish etc ur cup will have that smell they do not give you a clean cup once its used..very odd

The food quality is genuinely superior, especially the fresh seafood selection.
Crucially, crab legs were constantly stocked with no delays! The made-to-order stations—including the hotpot, ramen, and BBQ—add a huge amount of value and ensure a high-quality, personalized meal. Highly recommended for premium all-you-can-eat dining.

The food here was all pretty average. Most of it wasnt seasoned well or was overcooked. The sushi was all a bit old tasting. The ramen broth was fine but the pork wasnt seasoned and the rest was just fine. The desserts were all average as well. The strawberry ice cream bars they had were melted and refrozen

People working here are horrible. we sat down before anyone gave us any attention after waving them down just to get us something to drink. food is over rated and probably below average. any other buffet would have better quality food. they are nothing special than a newly built buffet that is already overran but people and by its own employees that cannot even keep it in a sanitary condition. table was sticky and plate not the cleanest. the bathroom was not clean and soap dispencers were emtry and i had to fight with the napkin dispencer and fix it for them.
also watch you bills and watch their pricing. we were 3 adults and a 2 year old and a newborn and they charged us for the 2 year old as an adult.

also a waitress by the name SAM dropped our check when we were still eating and came in a rush to pick it up and then took away one of out dessert plates while we were still eating it ,disregarding all other 3 plates that we had piled up with garbage. she was more concerned about getting paid than she was about servicing the table. what a shame. this place is pourly managed and does not deserve the hype they had when they first opened. again their food is not special and half of it is dry and stale!

Excellent selection for seafood and non-seafood diners. Plenty of crab legs (dinner only) shrimp, sashimi sushi, hot pot, BBQ meats and more. We go once a month.

The food is not tasty, the price is high and everything is very, very tasteless!!!!! I've been to many of these restaurants in different states, but this one was the worst!
