We (party of 6) were surprised that 12% was added to our bill for the Sushi guys on top of our tip for the service. To sum it up we spent an additional $55 for the tips alone. If you are charging 12% for the Sushi guys why do you still have the tip box by the Sushi counter? I'm not being cheap but I'm thinking of other customers who would like to eat at Umi but their wallet is budgeted? Tip is always or should be double the tax and now you added another 12% to the bill?...
This is one place I highly recommend
Monday to Friday for lunch is the best. The food is fresh. Especially, sashimi and sushi. I am not try to be bias, but I love Umi. You can have hot pot and buffet at the same time. So far,I think Umi could be the 👑 eatry on Staten Island. I never have any issue after I ate there. .

Great beautiful place good food and drinks very nice and clean the negative of this place which is i would say very off is the drink refill they take ur cup and bring back the same one so if you have fish shrimp craw fish etc ur cup will have that smell they do not give you a clean cup once its used..very odd
