We have been going to Vida for years. Always a great meal. Food is fresh and prepared from the heart. Silva, the owner, is warm and welcoming. Service has also always been great, including paying equal attention to our son, which we appreciate as many restaurants often treat children as if they are not at the table. Good wine menu. They offer beer and hard liquor as well. Prices are good for the quality of what you are getting. A gem of a place!

Love ,love, love Vida! Small intimate restaurant. I have never had even the tiniest bad experience here. Always interesting choices on the menu. Can't resist the Flautas filled with potato and cheese and some kind of mildly spicy yummy sauce dolloped on them. The green apple and goat cheese salad, the Vida Gumbo, organic brown rice and lentil cakes, whatever fish she is serving. Basically everything here is good! Some fun drink combinations as well!!!

From the moment we called for a reservation, we knew we would love this place. From Customer Service to the actual food and atmosphere, this is definitely a hidden treasure on Staten Island. We will definitely be back!!

This place is a hidden gem. When you first walk in you're greeted by the most wonderful decor that gives a vibe that you're no longer in SI anymore. It reminds me of being on vacation if you know what I mean. The food is phenomenal to say the least - the chef is amazing. Service is wonderful and attentive. I'm definitely going back next time I'm planning a night out with my SI friends. :)
Almost always a good meal. I love that the owner is also the Chef. Drinks are ok as their is no proper Bar or Bartender. Very unique atmosphere always comfortable vibe. However be prepared for a large bill at the end of your time here.

This restaurant is a treasure! A sparkling gem of a dining experience. Food prepared expertly in a lovely setting, paired with delicious wines. The menu is electic - mussels in a classic french white wine sauce, gumbo, pork chops with a side of braised apple cabbage were just a sample. I cannot wait to return. I have found my go to restaurant.

Hard to define this restaurant. Wine is offered by the glass with no brand name. It's only cash, but this is not specified anywhere and luckily we had some cash with us, otherwise not sure where we could have gone to get some under a torrential rain in a neighborhood we did not know. Specials are listed on a heavy easilth that is carried from table to table, so each table has to wait its turn to find out about the special. I had as main course a brown rice and lentil cake. I mean 1 for $16!. My husband had an almost raw strip steak for $38. He had ordered it medium rear and he had to send it back. The steak was chewy and likely not the strip cut. After we paid we asked for a receipt and the server just wrote the amount on plain paper. We asked for a business card, but they had none. We needed the receipt with an identification of the place, and the server just wrote "Vida". I wish them well, but they for now it seems they are in training. We went because Vida was listed in the 10 best restaurants in Staten Island. Why, we will never know
