Been to Violettes for dinner & brunch numerous times- always good! I do think it's time for a menu upgrade, maybe a seasonal switch. Always good at a Peter Botros restaurant.

Really nice, cozy, below-ground restaurant. The apps: crab Wellington and pot pie empanadas ???I had the shrimp and crab tagliolini and Sis had the Chilean seabass with forbidden rice. ??????

$516 Easter brunch for 6 adults. $516!! For some home fries, bacon, undercooked sausage, salad, and some pasta…ridiculous! Omelette/carving/pancake station had one person manning it. Gave up after 15 minutes waiting for an omelette. No scrambled eggs available for those who didn’t want an omelette or refused to wait. Finally was able to hit the carving station. One piece of dried up turkey. lol. Service was slow. Unorganized chaos. Awful. Waited 20 min for coffee. For these prices maybe throw some steak out for steak and eggs. Nope. Should’ve hit up a local steakhouse. Would’ve spent less for better food.

Words cannot express the wonderful time I had for my birthday at this restaurant. This is my second time being at this restaurant. We traveled from New Jersey. The food is Amazing. Kevin our attendee was wonderful. The restaurant is gorgeous. Absolutely worth the trip.

Food is good. Service a bit too slow. There was one waitress serving almost all tables. We waited over 10 min to pay after our table was cleaned up. Prices are on the pricy side, but food quality makes it justifiable.

My family and I patronize this establishment frequently, however very disappointed in how management handled a situation . Contacted the establishment on February 21, 2024, it was guaranteed that my guests and I would have a private room, and I would be contacted via phone shortly. However no one contacted me and I had to reach back out to management last week, all for me to hear that my guests and I will not have a private room due to the rooms already being booked. Hopefully, in the future, management and staff will be able to accommodate requests in an effective and timely manner.

Their seafood salad was wonderful. Octopus, calamari, mussels and shrimp all cooked perfectly. It was served cold and in what tasted like a balsamic vinigarette, but I'm not sure. The short rib was over creamy mashed potato and top with a wonderfully beefy gravy that was almost black...

It was just awful. I went here with my brother and sister in law for her birthday. The food was so disappointing. My sister in law ordered a ginger ale and the drink came with a dirty straw. I didn’t touch my plate after the first bite and my brother did not enjoy his food at all. Everything is also extremely overpriced.

Violette’s cellar has been a mainstay! I now live in Queens but I still try to make it out here frequently. This past Sunday I planned a brunch with my girls - 2 coming from New Jersey. We made a 1:15 pm reservation and arrived on time. At this point I’d like to add that we are 4 50+ women who know a little bit about dining. The host noticed us as we arrived alongside another family of 5. She seated them first and then came back and asked if we had a reservation ( she did not ask the family she seated). We did, in fact have a reservation. She did not, however, have an available table.Upon 1 of us stating we had a reservation, she let me know ( I hadn’t said anything but probably looked disappointed) “ well that’s not how reservations work” !It came off condescending & disrespectful. And yes. IT IS EXACTLY how reservations work in restaurants that respect their customers. I immediately left knowing the only way I answer a snotty ignorant twerp is to take my business elsewhere. What a shame.

Food was above expectations!! Matt and Zach were AWESOME!!! Drinks were excellent... Fig French was so good only wish the dried pineapple was in all three of my cocktails.. only got it when I had a drink at the bar. The pineapple was sooo good!! Zach was gracious enough to give us a tour when we asked about the Speakeasy nights. Hope to be able to make one of them. He also told us about the Drag Brunch which sounds like fun too! Zach is a keeper! Look forward to coming again!

Food and drinks were very good. Short rib was fantastic, chicken emenadas as well. Wedge salad was good but had better. Decor was very nice although the chairs at the tables were "low" . Felt like I was eating below the table line. The wait staff was quite young and obviously inexperienced. Seemed to be one waiter that was running from table to table to make up for the shortfalls of the others. I was quite taken back when I asked to change my appitizer order less than a minute after I ordered it to be told "it was already dropped, you cant cancel". Resulted in me ordering the other appitizer and left a bad feeling. The entire experience felt rushed, had a 7pm reservation on a Saturday night and was done eating multiple courses by 8 pm. heard many great things about Vilets and have visited the other affilated resturants. While the food wa good, the overall experience was lacking and I wont be returning.
