286 South Restaurant / Waterside Grand Catering

Finally a restaurant on this island with a different and amazing menu. The owner and the staff are so friendly and accommodating! If you haven't tried this place, you're really missing out!

Food was excellent and they had a large, diverse menu! Service was great! Owner was in and came to chat with the table as well!

That’s no excuse for poor service. If the kitchen and servers were overwhelmed, it was the management’s responsibility to ensure all guests were taken care of, regardless of an event next door. Overbooking and neglecting other guests reflects poor management, plain and simple. I had made a reservation 24 hours in advance, and despite that, some people in my group had to eat leftovers from whatever was served, and the food we did receive was cold and disgusting. It’s not my job to chase down a manager just to receive basic service. This was a complete failure, and I won’t be coming back.

I had made a reservation one day in advance. When I went there they said wait a minute. I waited 20 minutes not one. Then food took 2 hours. I went with kids who were hungry, but they didn’t care. They prioritized the event with 150 people-fundraising event. They attended to them 5 stars, the rest of us was so neglected. We waited and waited two hours to get the food. And we got cold fish, left over food for the fancy 150 people event next door, left over chicken with 2 stems of asparagus and also cold. Shit food which I paid 28$ for. Absolutely disappointing. Terrible service!

Absolutely the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I ordered the salmon, and it was served cold. When I brought this up, they didn’t even bother to remake it—they just threw it in the microwave and sent it back like that! No one checked on us afterward, and it was clear they didn’t care about our experience at all. The food was disappointing, the service was non-existent, and the entire experience was a complete waste of time and money. I will never be coming back, and I strongly suggest you avoid this place at all costs.

Very good food. Nice drink choices and a free wine on Friday nights with my entree. Service was on point. The hot brookie dessert was crazy good

Love the ambiance at this beautiful restaurant with a varied menu and delicious food. There is ample parking and outdoor dining is offered as well. Love all of their short rib dishes!

We ordered the family meals. This is the second time doing it. Delicious food. A lot of food. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

Wow! Just wow!
Last night, we had our school’s end of the year celebration at 286 South. Joe and Vin treated us like family. We were given the back room, which was perfect for the amount of people we had. Bartenders and servers were great, very attentive. The food was over the top. It was so delicious. We had the penne vodka, chicken franchaise and eggplant rollitinI… people went up for seconds and thirds. So yummy!!!! We are definitely coming back next year!

The food was decent for the price. However, they were out of some dishes on the menu. The music from the private party was quite loud when people entered & exited the event room

We went to this restaurant for my birthday. Everyone was very welcoming and the service was good. I would defenitly recommend to my friends and family!

First time here. Early on Sunday eve. Very good service by Rachel. The busboy was excellent. Good warm bread and olive tapinade. Meatbal app was good. Our Tricolor salad was excellent. The mushroom ravioli in the cream sauce was fantastic. Along with a nice Filet Mignon cooked right with very good mashed potatoes and excellent string beans. A great menu with nice fish choices also.
