The barista with the worst attitude, unprofessional and rude.
Acts like he would like to be elsewhere or the customers somewhere else

Grab a coffee here on your way out of town!

My Wife and I visited Black Dot while we were in Stone Ridge and we were very pleased with the high quality of the coffee. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Given the rarity of finding great coffee in the mountains, we visited multiple times. Our satisfaction was only exceeded by the great breakfast sandwiches and food options. This is a must stop for coffee and breakfast, if you're in the area.

Parking: Large lot in the rear off street.

Kid-friendliness: There were kids having a ball in the back area, which had tables and a grassy area.

Exceptional coffee and pastries. Sweet area to have your coffee outside with a gorgeous tree that the kids like to climb. Highly recommend!!

Best coffee in the Hudson Valley!

Three cheers for Black Dot! HIP-HIP-hoooo-boy-oh-boy . . . It’s very impressive to have lived almost 50 years in NYC only to discover the nastiest barista experience was actually to be found in a bougie cafe in Stone Ridge. Well done, Black Dot!

Interactions with the staff began as simply unwelcoming. However, things turned nasty when a mistake was made on a pastry order. Their behavior became like satirical “bad customer service” sketch (only not funny).

Everything else about the cafe is well curated. It’s all wasted when one’s experience is colored by snark and seeming disdain. How do I rate “Atmosphere” when the staff is so actively rude, they create an unpleasant environment? My partner and I did not make a stink or push back against each indignant response or snarky command. Whomever is in charge should know there’s a big problem with how they treat their patrons.

Love their coffee, but on multiple occasions I have gone to get coffee when they said they were open only to find them closed.

Black Dot is the best coffee shop ever. The quality and care put into their coffee and food is unparalleled in the Hudson Valley. Banana cake. CHECK. Lemon cake. CHECK. The best cappuccino? CHECK, CHECK. Yummy snacks? Forggetaboutit! They’re the best. They’re super friendly and it’s a great place for both locals and people traveling through- which is important up here! When I go back to the city I always miss it. :)

I truly dont know how this is rated a 4.7.This is one of the worst cafes I’ve ever been to. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with rude staff, and a building that looked like an abandoned warehouse. But the worst offender was the coffee and food. I paid 40 dollars for two coffees and two pieces of toast. The coffees tasted like diner quality, and the cups smelled like a dirty dish cloth. The toast had next to no salmon and barely any avocado. For 15 dollars a sandwich, that is beyond absurd.Stay away from this place. It is not the worth the time or money.

Do not believe the 4.7 rating on this place, those MUST fake reviews. The reason why this place is called black DOT is because all they gave you is a DOT of food for $40+. My boyfriend and I got 2 pieces of toast each. The salmon they give is 1 piece of salmon shredded into bits for literally $16. The coffee is watered down with no flavor served out of smelly cups for $5. For $40, I would expect to leave feeling full but instead I am still hungry. This place is highway robbery. STAY AWAY

Lucky to have BlackDot in the area. Best coffee shop around. They’ve done such a great job with the spot, as someone who has been living up here for almost a decade. I just wish they were open every day ?

I didn't expect to find a decent matcha latte in this area, so it was a nice surprise for me! I don't have a photo of it because I finished it too fast. Definitely worth a visit if you're around!
