Loved our experience. We had a pre dinner drink by the firepit outside brough to us by the bartender. Both were superb cocktails. The focaccia bread was excellent for an appetizer and the lamb kofta was delicious, Service was top notch as well.

This is a really old house with a lot of character. We stayed here and ate at the restaurant couple times. Broccoli, focaccia and half chicken are my favorite dishes!
Great dinner from start to finish last night for our group. Our favorite starters were the Brussel sprouts, lamb sliders, and focaccia. (I dipped the chips from the sliders in the Brussel sprout sauce, do it. So good. Reminded me of chips and dip). Main course we shared the burger, bratwurst, pasta, and chicken. The Israeli couscous under the chicken was a perfect compliment. We all agreed the burger was awesome, but tots were just ok. The pasta dish was great. The crisp on the bratwurst was so good and root vegetables with it were great. Loved this meal. I think I overheard the chef say he moved here from Asheville recently. Keep up the great work
We had a lovely evening here last night. We were seated in the bar for dinner and drinks. It was peaceful and intimate on a Saturday night. Staff treated us super well and our bartender made a kickass Manhattan. Our favorites were the appetizers: the highly addictive Brussels Sprouts (pretty filling, ate too much:-)) and the radicchio feta salad. We hadn’t been in a while…loved it, then fell out of love…but new staff and new beginnings, still in the same beautiful building, so totally worth another shot.
We had a lovely dinner this evening at Butterfield. We had eaten here several times previously and had a great experience, so, I was disappointed when I noticed a lot of the recent reviews were not good. They seem to have gotten an entire new staff, chef, wait staff etc. The chef Tyler came out to introduce himself and he was very friendly and made delicious food. Our waitress Olivia was great as well. If you had a poor experience previously, I would say give them another try ❤️
It's a shame that such a beautiful restaurant struggles to deliver high quality service and food. Given the prices, I expected a fine-dining experience. We waited nearly 30 minutes for our drinks to come, with little communication from waitstaff about the delay (beer keg was empty?), and no water refills. Adults at another table finish their meal before the waitstaff realized they forgot to bring the children's dish. Pumpkin ravioli dish was gross and served in a puddle of pasta water. However, the chicken and the polenta were good. I appreciate that they comped our drinks, but I don't think we'll be coming back.
the atmosphere is quite beautiful, however, it was cold in there and my 90-year-old parents had to wear their coats. It would have been fabulous if there could have been a fire in the fireplace. The hot toddy was spectacular, really one of the best I've had. The salads were very tasty but seemed overpriced for what you got. The chicken was delicious and probably the best choice at the table for the night. Three people in my family got the short rib and it fell a little short. To be honest. It lacked flavor and tenderness and it was a little dry. The squash pasta was quite tasty. The service was very kind and friendly but a little slow and not completely knowledgeable of the menu. Overall we had a lovely evening, but it could be improved upon.
WILL CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION THE DAY OF
Three weeks ahead, we made a reservation for 4 at 7:30 on a Saturday night. We received a voicemail at 4pm the day of our reservation telling us that they had a private event and had to MOVE our reservation. We could either move back to 5-6pm or accept a table in the bar. When we called back, no one picked up. So we stopped by in person and agreed to the bar seats. When we got there, we were handed a menu with three appetizers and three entrees. The waitress said "oh, they didn't tell you about the limited menu?" We left and had a much better time down the street. Afterwards, we drove past to see this bustling private event and the dining room was just as empty as when we showed up.
I have questions for management
- Who doesn't know about a private event until the day of? Who calls three hours before a reservation to effectively cancel it?
- Who forgets to mention that you'll be given a menu with six things on it?
- Who delegates these uncomfortable conversations to servers? Where was the manager to take responsibility for their egregious mistake?
- Why cancel a 4-top to keep an empty dining room?
- Who fails -- at any point -- to apologize for this unacceptable change?
I guess it's our fault for even trying to do the bar seats. Should have just steered clear after that ridiculous voicemail. So incomprehensibly unprofessional. Save your money and patience.

Very disappointed. First, we were put on a waiting list for dinner, and then got the reservation, only to find a half filled restaurant . Service was slow, salads came out at the same time as the entrees, and most served to wrong diner. Food was bland , pasta dishes came out cold. For the price, and the “lack of availability”, we had high expectations , but it was a very mediocre meal. Place needs a lot of work.

We’ve eaten here several times, but, never again. Although the food is ok, albeit overpriced for the quality, the atmosphere is pleasant enough and we like to support our local restaurant. However tonight they managed to kill any desire to eat here by being incredibly inhospitable. The website clearly says open until 9pm. After trying to reach them by phone to make a reservation - 3 tries, no answer from 8:10 to 8:20- we drove over only to be told that they wouldn’t seat us- at 8:40 pm. Timothy, after telling us he was too busy to answer the phone, explained in a rather pedantic way that the kitchen closes at 9 and this means that no-one can be seated after 8:30 pm. No use discussing. He’s the restaurant manager. If I were the owner I would fire Timothy after explaining the concept of being in the hospitality business.

Restaurantji Recommends
Went for their happy hour at the bar. There is a reduced pub menu and specials on beer and wine. We had the burgers and the crudite.
Vegetarian options: We saw the pub menu only. We had the crudite, olives and fries. Check with bartender.
Parking: There are several handicap accessible spots near the building but it's still a bit of a walk. There's a large parking lot in the back. The entrances to the facility all have a 4" step to get in and the walkway is uneven.

I celebrated a birthday dinner here. The venue and space is cozy and intimate. I highly recommend ordering the gnocchi with truffles.

We had a lovely dinner here at Butterfield. We had the salmon and steak frites. The cocktails we had were not great, but overall has a nice meal.

TL;DR - Very disappointed, wouldn't recommend.
We came here for dinner, after searching the area and seeing the good reviews.
the service was great, but the food wasn't good.
The cauliflour was drenched in sauce that was way too strong, asparagus way too salty, burata came in weird (and bad) fruit salad, the steak and pork ribs were both dry and the salmon sat in an inedibly salty sauce.
For the price and the venue, we expected much more.

Very cozy place but food was just not good.
Burata with fruit salad was just a large cut fruit salad
Steak asked medium came well-done
Too salty salmon and too salty risotto
Dry pork chop
We decided not to bet on desert...
Very disappointing.
