I tried this place solely on Benjamin Scholl's review. He was right, the beef and broccoli is perfectly made, even 45 minutes before closing for the night.

We've given Ming Moon a few tries. All the dishes we've tried are really lacking seasoning. The most confusing dish is their fried rice which is just yellow rice, not fried, with no vegetables or anything else. Ordered chicken fried rice (photo attached) which just their plain yellow rice with some boiled chicken pieces added. This is not Chinese American fried rice. Where are the peas, carrots, onions, scallions, or seasoning? Oh and it's not fried? If this fried rice is actually made in a wok, then the heat must be at 1/10. Maybe they are trying to be "healthier" than typical Chinese American food? That is not advertised anywhere.

I'd recommend Asia restaurant down the road which is marginally better but has the same non-fried rice problem.

I am rating ming moon based on the quality of their beef and broccoli, which I have ordered well over 100 times over the span of several years. It is simply the best beef and broccoli I have ever had. As an enthusiast of the dish I make it a point to order it at every American Chinese restaurant I have ever been to for quality testing purposes (my sample size spans multiple states and both coasts). I have also made it myself a number of times. Ming Moon avoids the most common pitfalls of watery sauce and overcooked broccoli. Their recipe and execution are flawless. Thick rich sauce, perfectly cooked broccoli and beef. If they ever close I will consider it a personal tragedy.

Haven't been in couple years, and the food was tasteless and won ton soup was greesy water. Yellow rice seemed boiled not fried.the lo mein was good. edible. Unfortunately I can't eat won ton of rice. They wouldn'tet me return. . Seems like changed hands. Hope they fix it or put a sign out not same owner.

Everything was great, service was incredible and staff was nice. Food tasted great, and in my opinion is better than most other Chinese places in New York. Would come here again!
