The Roost is our go to when we are upstate. We have a house about 10-15 minutes from it and it’s perfect for breakfast and dinner when we don’t want to travel a half hour to eat! Food is always good

Amazing!!! The avocado skillet is Incredible! Friends loved the corned beef hash. This is my favorite place in the Kingston area. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere is great. Consistently good. Well done!

While passing through, we stopped here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon at the recommendation of a local person, and we were not disappointed. Soup and salads were tasty and fresh. The owners seem eager to provide quality food, not the usual fried stuff. Cobb salad had fresh mixed greens and was topped with warm bacon and chicken breast pieces. Black bean soup with pork was the soup of the day, very tasty with a mild “kick” (possibly jalapeño). We didn’t have the daily quiche, but glad to see that was an option. Seating area is small (maybe 30 seats) but not cramped; some seating on the porch outside as weather permits.

Ordered take out for dinner and breakfast and was very happy with both.
Visiting the area with my partner and we picked up food from The Roost for dinner- a burger and tots and with French fries. Both were great and were well packed.
We knew it would be good and easy, so we got some egg sandwiches and coffee before heading home. Quality and tasty.

Food and staff are great. My only complaint is that it’s soo loud. People’s voices seem amplified. Utensils getting sorted into bins makes me want to jump. There are no floor coverings to absorb noise. Cork panels on the walls would help. Not sure owner would agree.Really like the place and food. I’ll bring ear plugs 😆

Good food, great service. Only comment on atmosphere was condensation dripping from AC overhead landed on me more than floor. Table should have been moved but otherwise we will visit again
We were camping in the area and visited The Roost for both breakfast and lunch. Service was super fast and friendly and food was decently portioned and very good! We sat out on the covered/screened in porch both times and we were able to keep watch on our car with our pup snoozing in it.
