Hands down the best New England clam chowder I’ve ever had. Lobster bisque was also exceptional. The crab cakes were also delicious.It was our first time stopping here and definitely won’t be the last.What really stood out was the service. The young man who took our order was both helpful and very polite as was a young woman who was working tonight also.Better service than some very high end restaurants.DJ’s is definitely doing everything right!What a pleasureThank you!

Small portions. Not worth it. Tried it once ordering a whole bunch of different stuff and regretted after. Quality was OK, not good or great, but don't get your moneys worth IMO. Won't be back.

Ok looking for aNice clean quick seafood bite. Here is a great spot close to StonyBrook University. We only got a few tasting items. That being, someBaked clams, New England clam chowder, clam strips, coleslaw. Ok so the Baked Clams. These were amazing perfect amount of breading, perfect bite size pieces of clam, and amazing seasonings. A must try. The coleslaw tasted House made. And had a slight delicious tropic fruit taste. Not heavily mayor, just right. Great job. Now for my all time favorite. Was the white New England Clam Chowder. At first i was thinking it was a lil thick for my taste, however I was wrong!!! I could not put the spoon down. Perfect clam flavor and bites of clam. Seasoned just wright on those coldNights for a quick warm up. As for the atmosphere, we did take out but sat while our food was being made. It looked like the place had about 5 tables, it was super clean. Nice size tv to eat in and they had a self service drink machine. Not a fancy place but a newer, clean, happy place. Our order taker, cashier. Was super friendly and happy to be doing her job. Which in this world is always nice too see. I will review more when we stop in again for there Famous lobster rolls.

Best lil seafood place. Dine in (limited seating) or take out. During spring & summer months, grab a seafood take out and sit down at West Meadow Beach. Or during the cooler months sit in and order yourself some hot seafood bisque. DJ's Clam shack is clean, the kitchen is immaculate and so are the bathrooms. I dined in and ordered the cold lobster roll (they have a warm one as well), with a side of onion rings and cowboy sauce. 1st, the lobster roll was delish, the bun toasted perfectly (tasted great) lobster was fresh, claws and meat (not chopped) & gently seasoned. Onion rings were cooked perfect and with or without cowboy sauce were really good. Now the cowboy sauce... wow, really good stuff. It was so good, I dipped my delicious leftover bun in it and finished that. Crab cakes, I don't think there was any breading in them but double check me on that.... all crab... squeeze some lemon and so good. I was really really surprised how good the food was. I thought it was going to be a place where everything was deep fried. NOT THE CASE. The staff was courteous and very helpful. OMG!! I ALMOST FORGOT!!! THE KEYLIME TART!!! GET THE KEYLIME TART!!!! You won't be disappointed. It's soooooo good. So creamy and a butter cookie crust NOT graham cracker. I would go back just for that. This was my 1st visit. Going back for the clam's & calamari. The servings are filling & lots of lobster on the roll, pic doesn't look it but it was full of meat.

Had to stop by the famous DJ's Clam Shack. Unfortunately I was short on time and didn't get to really explore the menus which looks amazing. I ended up getting the hot Maine lobster roll with fries and a cold corona with lime. Price was great. The lobster roll was pretty much perfect! Flavor, quantity, and freshness was on point. I decided to eat there, it's small and clean. They bring food to you after ordering and the staff was above and beyond friendly and helpful. From my first experience I would definitely recommend it. I can't wait to come back and check out the rest of the menu!

Food is fresh and delicious. The lobster roll is loaded with chunks of lobster, no imitation seafood here. Coleslaw and fries were great. My nephew also got the 1/2 dozen raw clams which he thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be going back!!
