Kitchen closes before the store closes. Wouldn’t even take a to go order, staff walked out at 8:50 when they close at 9
Now, I am not the biggest fan of ramen. So why am I writing a review? It's actually because of the rice bowls. Gyudon, Curry Katsu Don, Karaage Don, etc.
They are great lunches, but they are also somehow BETTER when cold. I think the flavors have time to get to know each other? Normally this wouldn't be a selling point for a Japanese restaurant, but Iron Ramen actually gives you enough food to make another meal out of.
My only critique is that I think these rice bowls would do better with an accompanied side sauce to combat flavor fatigue. Traditional? Maybe not, but it would be welcome!
The ramen was solid and a good portion size. Beware of the 10% cash discount, which essentially means you're charged an extra 10% for credit card. I've never seen that high of a difference in price and probably won't be returning for that reason. But if you don't mind that, I would say it's a fine enough place.
Horrible customer service Darren ensured that I Never visit this establishment again worst customer service in Port Jefferson
The milk teas are always good! The lychee jelly is always my favorite to add to my tea. The milk teas are on the sweeter side.
Great tea selection. Best ramen on Long Island. Not many gluten free options but hoping they add rice noodles!
The food here is delicious! The portions served are awesome!! Best RAMEN ever!!😋😋😋
# Overall:
Iron Ramen seems to be a great establishment to visit for an affordable filling meal. The portion sizes are extremely generous.
# Ambiance
This place sports a self-service style where you order and pick up the food yourself. You'll also be in charge of cleaning up after yourself too.
# Food and Drink
Introduced to me by some friends that continually praise this place for it's kaarage don, I had to visit with them and try for myself.
Lavender Milk Tea
The milk tea comes with tapioca and is pretty sweet. The Pineapple Passion Fruit smoothie and the Rose Lychee smoothie were better beverage choices.
Kaarage Don
The main attraction. There is a lot of chicken and a lot of rice. I wouldn't exactly classify the fried chicken as kaarage, but the flavor is still decent. The red ginger is an optional topping included by default. Personally, it's too strong of a flavor and ends up taking away from the overall dish, so I would ask to omit it.

I just had the Gyudon (beef, scallions, ginger, rice) and the Gyoza. The Gyoza was fried to perfection and the sauce served with it was excellent as well. The Gyudon was delicious and very filling. The ginger was strong but not overwhelming and added needed crunch and varying taste to the Gyudon. It was well constructed. I will eat here again.

One of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had, and all for an avoidable reason.
On Christmas Eve, my family and I visited this establishment in search of a hearty meal while we were out and about. Unfortunately, from the outset, the service was subpar. The staff members who assisted us with our order were dismissive, rude, and seemed outright hostile. I’ve never felt so disrespected over a meal—especially something as straightforward as ramen.
The food itself didn’t meet expectations either. It was bland and lacked any real flavor, to the point where I’ve made better ramen from a packaged kit at home. Three members of my family were dissatisfied with their dishes, so I approached the cashier to inquire about the possibility of an exchange. Having worked in food service myself, I understand the policies that establishments typically have, and I always approach these situations with respect and understanding. I wasn’t demanding anything—just hoping for a simple resolution.
Instead, I was met with an unnecessarily defensive and condescending response:
“In other places, we don’t refund people just because they don’t like the food. It’s your own decision to buy food. It’s not our fault you don’t like the food that someone else may like. You can buy something else, but we will not refund or exchange anything for you.”
For clarification, no refund was requested. At no point did I escalate the situation or ask for anything unreasonable. A simple, polite “no” would have sufficed. I merely wanted to ask about the possibility of an exchange, but was met with an excessive, unnecessarily hostile response.
While I understand that food service can be demanding, it doesn’t justify treating customers in such a dismissive and rude manner. Smaller establishments, like Slurp, would likely have handled the situation with far more professionalism and courtesy—even offering a refund or exchange if necessary.
TL;DR: The food was mediocre (a 4/10 at best), and the staff was unreasonably rude without cause. If you have the option, I recommend visiting a more customer-friendly place, like Slurp, instead.

This is for sure the best Romen restaurant I've been to on Long Island. Just the overall experience and they are very nice here. I'm always very satisfied when I come here.

Went to iron ramen the other night and tried their ramen for the first time. Ramen is one of my favorite foods. Therefore, I have tried multiple ramen places. This one had the best ramen for sure! The ramen was amazing and I can’t wait to come back and try more flavors! The service and atmosphere also made the experience even more enjoyable, and the strawberry banana smoothie was the perfect drink to top it off. Can’t wait to come back to iron ramen! Thank you!!
