We had an incredible experience at Luca in Stony Brook! Came with a group of six friends for a family-style dinner, and everything from the service to the food was outstanding.
Our server, Kacey, made the night—she was incredibly attentive, funny, and personable, with spot-on recommendations throughout the meal. The cocktails were excellent, and they helped me find the perfect glass of wine to pair with our dishes.
The menu had something for everyone, including one pescatarian in our group who had plenty of delicious vegetarian and seafood options.
We shared a range of dishes:
First Course: Artichoke & Crab, Summer Squash, Calamari, and Meatballs—each dish was fresh and flavorful.
Second Course: The Squid Ink Agnolotti and Braised Rabbit Paccheri—both unique and beautifully balanced.
Third Course: Lamb Chop, Potato-Crusted Halibut, and the Wagyu Skirt Steak (a daily special)—all cooked perfectly, with layered textures and bold flavors.
The portions were exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber—elegant but rich and satisfying. Everyone in our group left with very full (and very happy) bellies. Each of us had a different favorite dish, which says a lot about the variety and quality of the food. Can’t wait to come back!

We had the most incredible dining experience at LUCA! Our group of six curated a family-style 3-course meal that felt like a true culinary journey.
First Course: The Artichoke & Crab, Summer Squash, Calamari, and Meatballs (my personal favorite) were the perfect start—each dish packed with flavor and beautifully presented.
Second Course: The Squid Ink Agnolotti (my personal favorite) and Braised Rabbit Paccheri were absolutely divine. The pasta was perfectly made, and every bite was rich and satisfying.
Third Course: The Lamb Chop( my personal favorite), Potato-Crusted Halibut, and Wagyu Skirt Steak (daily special + personal favorite) were cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and an absolute standout.
For dessert, we couldn’t resist trying just about everything: Tiramisu, Lemon Tart, Sicilian Pistachio Gelato, Gelato Duo, Dark Chocolate Budino (my personal favorite), and Mandarin & Vanilla Panna Cotta.
The service was just as impressive as the food. Kacey, our server, was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and perfectly timed with clearing between courses, offered perfect wine pairing, and was the perfect guide on our culinary journey. Simply put, she's the best!
LUCA delivered on every level— flavors, ambiance, and exceptional service. We can’t wait to come back!

Had a wonderful time at Luca last night. We ate at the bar and enjoyed great cocktails, service and dinner. The Halibut was excellent. We will definitely be back again soon.

My daughter and I lunched at Luna yesterday and the experience was even better than our first time. We started with salads, mine with burrata, then she had chicken Parmesan while I had the Montauk swordfish. The waiter suggested the street corn and we said sure. We finished with a lemon tart to share. I wish there was a stronger word than delicious to use. The portions were large enough that we went home with doggie bags. And I love that their ingredients are locally sourced. The wait service was impeccable, the decor upscale but not pretentious or gaudy. We will be returning to Luna.

Had the loveliest dinner on the patio! Great service and the best ambiance. I had been a little concerned about the portion sizes based on the pics on Instagram but I now realize those must be the appetizer portions. The food was delicious.

Light and airy with solid food. Greeted and served with warmth. Went above and beyond across the board.

The service is excellent and the atmosphere is upscale. The food is not good enough and the portion sizes are not large enough to justify the price.

Good food… Nice atmosphere a little bit confused about their happy hour… I know happy hours tend to sound like they are for an hour but many restaurants stretch it a little longer… They’re happy hour is 4 to 5 which is a little on the early side because it doesn’t last past five I guess they don’t want any working people that work till five. Can’t get there any earlier…??

Absolutely amazing. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in the Island. All meals were delicious and the service was impeccable.
Lovely waiter. Anxious to accommodate. Food pricey for small portions. My shrimp were yummy but my husband and son had chicken parm which was not as good as any Italian Restaurant.

Top notch North Shore dining. Great atmosphere, considerate, but not intrusive service, and dynamite cuisine.

Excellent establishment. Just wish the portion sizes were 20% larger.
The environment is very clean and high end. They go the extra mile in providing top tier service. They even have my companion a stool to set her purse upon. Small gesture but she appreciated it.
Service was also excellent. I would 100% return.

I'm not sure why this place would receive any negative reviews. I can easily place this spot in my top 5 on the island, between the service and how fresh every dish was . Amazing restaurant for any occasion.
