This place is totally over rated. Was there last night with another couple. Non of us liked our meal. This is the third time here. We weren't happy the last couple of times we were there. So we gave it another shot. We will not be back

This place is up there with Michelin star restaurants in my opinion. Very very impressed .
I got the Carpaccio - the rabbit - and then the duck. All of which were prepped very very nicely . Carpaccio is some of the best I’ve had. Great high quality ingredients , along with incredible flavor profiles, and very nice ambiance.
Will be coming back.

From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtfully curated and effortlessly welcoming. The ambience strikes the perfect balance—warm, elegant, and inviting—setting the tone for what became an unforgettable evening.

The food was nothing short of exceptional. Every dish was beautifully presented, clearly crafted with intention and pride, and the flavors were simply outstanding. Each bite confirmed the same thing: this is food made by people who genuinely care about their craft. The balance, freshness, and execution were flawless.

Equally impressive was the service—attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly timed. The staff made us feel cared for without ever feeling rushed or intrusive, which elevated the entire experience.

Luca isn’t just a great restaurant—it’s a complete experience. From presentation to taste, service to atmosphere, everything works together seamlessly, and it shows.

Thank you for delivering such a memorable evening. We will absolutely be back and will enthusiastically recommend Luca to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.
Special shout out too Will. Thanks for always being the best.

The first thing you notice about Luca is the ambiance. Low lighting, but not too dark. Bright white pillars with lights below them that make the dining room and bar room feel spacious and elegant. Then comes the service. Not only are you welcomed with warmth, but the moment you sit you’re given a purse stool if you have a bag so it doesn’t sit on the floor. You’re given dark linens when wearing dark clothing so as not to get white fuzz on your clothes. It’s the attention to detail that makes this place extraordinary. Then comes the cuisine. Not only does the chef curate classic Italian dishes with elegant simplicity, he also modernizes familiar flavor profiles with their own unique spin. If there’s any place on Long Island that’s worth a visit, it’s Luca.

Class personified!!! They checked your coat upon entering this beautiful place (see picture). The service from greeter, to wait staff was 1st class. The menu featured many unique dishes. This Michelin star restaurant is a wonderful place for foodies. My beet salad, pictured here, looked like a work of art. This restaurant also had a very nice wine selection. When I'm back in Stony Brook, I'll again frequent this amazing place!

My husband and I dined at Luca in Stony Brook last night, and it was one of the best experiences we’ve had in a long time. The food was exceptional — every dish was vibrant, rich in flavor, and crafted with real attention to detail. But what truly set the evening apart was the phenomenal service we received from our bartender, Fabiano. From the moment we sat down, he made us feel welcomed and taken care of, offering thoughtful recommendations that ended up being our favorite dishes of the night. His attentiveness, warm personality, and genuine passion for what he does elevated our entire experience. We left already talking about when we could come back. Luca is an absolute gem, and we can’t recommend it enough!

Dinner at Luca was spectacular. Expensive but likely the most distinguished cooking I’ve experienced in a long long time. Italian, with other wonderful influences. We did the full three course meal plus dessert. It started with some of the best prosciutto I’ve ever eaten along with a small amuse-bouche of blood oranges and fennel. My first course was an artichoke stuffed with crab, lemon and mint. And then a half portion of homemade tagliatelle with a meat sauce that was probably the most delicious meat sauce I’ve ever eaten. And then a filet mignon with blue cheese and an extraordinary potato that, I don’t know how to describe it, but it was both crunchy and melted in my mouth at the same time. The chocolate pudding budino at the end was a highlight as well. In addition to the delicious food, services excellent as well as the decor.

The food was delicious and our server was very sweet and attentive. Can’t wait to come back! The meatballs and corn cappelletti were my favorite and make sure to leave room for dessert. The pistachio ice cream is unreal.

Nothing short of absolutely fantastic. We sat at the bar Saturday evening without a reservation. The prix fixe menu was out of this world, but the star of the show was truly the staff. We felt welcomed and so well taken care of - from advice on the menu to pairings of wine. HIGHLY recommend this spot.
