Sad that this place is closing. I always wanted to visit and glad I got to yesterday before it officially closes. Food was incredible! Loved the limoncello shrimp! Hope they find a new location soon!

It is a shame that Pentimento will be closing for good this weekend. Their lease was not renewed, after more than 20 years. It was always a wonderful restaurant. It will be greatly missed.

Went there last night with some of my girlfriends. It had been my first time. Food was delicious! The first speciality drink I'd ordered we all thought didn't taste good, and the waitress was such a sweetheart she took it back and got me something else at no charge. The one thing I was disappointed in was when my friend made the reservation on open table we requested outdoor seating. When we arrived, we were told indoor only and had to wait for a table. They claimed to have called everyone with an outdoor reservation to let them know, but my friend never received a call. We got a bunch of small plates/appetizers to start and shared them around the table. All were delicious! The main courses were all very tasty as well.

Pentimento is great! Shame on the Ward Melville Foundation and the chair person, Gloria, for not doing everything in their and her power to keep this neighborhood gem open - we don't need another glorified fast food "joint" in its place. Negotiate a new lease ASAP! Save Pentimento!!!!!!

Pentimento is a great little restaurant - classy but still casual. The place is so pretty, the people are so nice and the food is great! The clientele is pretty good too - although that sounds self serving - it spans age groups and ethnic groups and is all around quite cosmopolitan! I hope that the landlord reconsiders terminating their lease. The other restaurant names I hear mentioned as replacements are nothing more than glorified fast food stops - Stony Brook should work to keep its image and its style - Ward Melville would absolutely demand Pentimento stay! After struggling through the pandemic so far, this restaurant should get more than short shrift from the landlord. As the signs around the area say - Save Pentimento!!

Love this place, both indoors and out. The dining room is attractive, quiet and the garden seating lush. Both allow for ample spacing between diners. The menu is interesting, tasty and well priced, especially as the place is in a high-end community. Very disappointed that a conflict with its landlord may end its long term residency.

This Restaurant continues to put out outstanding dishes and wait service in a perfect enviroment. Only complaint... Entrees/Large Plate portions could be a little larger. Save Pentimento Restaurant!! Stony Brook Village is where it belongs.

Great food, great service, nice location. Dined on the patio and had a wonderful experience. It's really too bad that they lost their lease and will be closing next month. One of the better establishments around.

The dried zucchini chips were tasty without being greasy. Had the steak sandwich which was cooked a perfect medium rare. Unsweetened peach ice tea was refreshing.

27 years of hidden Jem of three village.Pentimento has an amazing romantic new garden, they have a beautiful water fountain in the garden so we hear water running while having a great dinner.Calamari, cheese board and ravioli with salami brings memories from grandma recipe.Wow. Always my best place to bring my friends who are visiting from out of town to get the best hospitality.Love you lisa and Dennis.

Terrible rib steak. Steak lovers be aware. Sorely disappointed because I specifically asked the waitress if the steaks are particularly good. The steak had alot of gristle and a large, obvious vein. I do not think it was a rib steak at all. Also the herb butter has lemon zest which I love but never on a steak. The rest of the meal was good. The ambiance was nice outside.

We were helping our son move into Stony Brook University and I was checking online to see what nice restaurants are around the area and had read the wonderful reviews for Pentimento Restaurant that we had to try it out for ourselves. We had a wonderful dinner! Everything that we ordered was delicious! The service was very good as well, it was a nice ambiance at the restaurant. I was sad to read that Pentimento has lost their lease at their current location of 27 years. I hope they are able to find another place/another lease or hopefully the realtor will change their mind about renewing the lease. What a wonderful restaurant and would love to try more of their dishes when coming back to Stony Brook to visit our son.

It was great but portions could be more especially the grouper taco. It's 1 taco and it's $8. And hardly had any fish in it. Same with limoncello shrimp. Small portion. I know it's small plates. But I'm spending over $100 and left hungry.
