Nita's European Bakery

It used to be amazing... now empty.. i bought yesterday Dobos, Amandina...old and dry...

There aren’t any Romanian bakeries left and this one is the best. The violete, amandine, and the ones w cream in the middle that open like a shell. I forget the name. Are the absolute best. Everyone needs to try it!

good tasting pastries but disgustingly expensive and smaller sizes then few years ago

Fresh pastries. I was accepting a bit better taste because of the yummy look.
Big plus they have dobos😊Service was ok,nothing special,cash only,they have ATM inside in case. Not bad but will not be my favorite.

The diplomat is crazy good. Choux A La Creme is really good. The Violeta is very aromatic and flavorful.

I love Nita, it's my favorite bakery. I love all the desserts they have there. Today I tried their new dessert, it's a walnut and cherry chocolate cake. It has a small N on top as a garnish. It is incredibly delicious. I warmly recommend it. I absolutely recommend everything this bakery offers ?

Love thèse Romanisn desserts I grew up with as a child in Bucharest! Beats any other European Bakery! I wish they would ship their Amandina, Dobos cakes or their savarinas. Real butter, real whipped cream. Amazing and fair priced.

Family run Romanian bakery with ridiculously good sweet and savory pastries. Their grandfather started this in 1982 and have become part of the community

Only solely Romanian bakery in NY

One of their popular pastries is the Savarina. New York Tines once listed it as one of 25 essential dishes to eat in NYC .

It's their version of Romanian Baba Au rhum. A tiny cake baked in a muffin tin, soaked in rum syrup, filled with whipped cream and topped with jam and rum.

It's spongy, creamy, fruity and boozy and really really good. Wow!

There are so many great sweet and savory pastries here . The dobos is a colorful incredibly designed cake. Their Easter season Cozonac bread filled with chocolate is really good and took one home. I was told there are lines down the block to get this bread during Easter.

I also had the amandina which is just chocolate heaven. The puffs filled with cheese, meat or mushrooms are really nice little bites.

Big thank you to Maria at the bakery for introducing me to the Savarina and helping me experience the various Romanian pastries. And to Robert for sharing his families journey and his love for baking.
