Came here twice when visiting family and we had a good time-- the food comes out quick, service has been quite friendly for NY, and our orders for a big group have always been spot on! It's definitely not a shiny or new environment, but it has a nostalgic diner feel without being dirty. For diner food, I think their food is tasty~ giant pancakes, greasy hash towns, thick French toast pieces-- the classics! Great place for variety~ obviously not the healthiest spot, but Celebrity Diner is a fun place for some memories!

Do not patronize this place !!Our waiter took it upon himself to give himself a $50 tip on a $50 bill. And then, when we called him on it, he tried to say he couldn’t do anything about it he was outright stealing.

Don’t even know where to start, this experience was almost a perfect example of what not to do in hospitality. First- dirty, old decor, stained banquettes and gruff waiter.Second- our omelettes were both significantly overcooked, hash browns reheated old potatoes.Third and most significantly: this gruff waiter actually filled in a tip for $53.00 ( which was same amount of check) claimed it was an honest mistake and refused to reverse the credit card transaction. Requested that we come back in 90 minutes to speak to manager.Finally, on what should be a relaxing breakfast on my day off, I had to get up in his face, threaten to call police and demand he take the $53 out of the register.Beware! Shady old dirty diner

Absolute worst dining experience complete with an attempted theft of $53 on a $53 check which was written in by the waiter. Claimed it was an "honest mistake " initially refused to refund until we threatened to call the police. Food and atmosphere were equally disgusting and unappealing

Never again. We arrived around 3:30 so restaurant was very quite. It took about 15 mins for our food to come out, and when it finally came, my burger which I ordered w/o cheese, had cheese on it and both plates piled with COLD fries. Our waiter never returned to check on us. The corn beef hash was inedible (must be canned), and I had to flag the waiter down twice to ask for our check.I then had to track someone down in order to pay at the register, and the man who I assume was the manager, said “what’s new?”, not how was your dining experience.

The omelet was amazing. The home fries were way overcooked. The server was rude and hardly acted like he cared if I was there or not. After eating most of my meal with no drink, the busboy finally offered me a refill as I was leaving. Maybe the busboy and the server should switch jobs.
