Mongo's Coffee Roastery & Lounge

This is a coffee house and their coffee is great, but if you decide to try their muffins, you’ll be disappointed. The blueberry and banana muffins are the crumb type and taste too sweet. They don’t taste like homemade muffins. So if you’re there just for the coffee, you won’t be disappointed.

The ambiance is great, warehouse vibes where you can see them roasting the beans fresh. The pastries looked amazing, tried the blueberry muffins the blueberries were large and bursting with flavor, very large muffin, just a little too sugary for me. The cappuccino was beautiful, but the coffee blend was a little darker than my preference, but overall tasty with perfect milk. Very affordable with a good socialable atmosphere

Great place to work in Syosset. Plenty of seating with wall outlets, good internet and friendly staff.

Visit today for a quick afternoon coffee, it gets very busy around 4 PM. With a line of 5 groups of people in the front and took about 20 minutes to get a coffee. Only one person at the counter making drinks, taking orders and reheating the pastries. I will suggest put more staff at the counter in the afternoon rush hour to improve service. Otherwise great coffee!

Rock w coffee beans broke my $200 hand grinder. Unacceptable.

I decided to try this spot after seeing it in a TikTok video. I ordered the Supreme Toast, but ended up receiving the Mango Toast instead—which I didn’t want and we didn’t enjoy the toast because we don’t like peanut butter!!! On the bright side, the drinks were delightful. I also ordered a scone that wasn’t sweet, but still pretty good. The toast was okay, just not what I ordered. Overall, the place has a good vibe and is worth checking out.

It’s one of my favorite places to get work done. Incredibly friendly staff and great coffee.

Only reason for the 2 stars is because of the food options. Only one vegan option. I got the avocado toast which was nothing special so would love to see expansion of cruelty-free options on the menu so I can spend the day working there while having the option for foods that don’t support these cruel industries. Many places now are shifting towards nutritious and tasty food options without animal products so I would love to see this at one of my favorite coffee/work spots!

And I know many people who look for this but don’t always voice it or choose not to go to places that don’t have these food options so I think it would be great to add.

Happy to provide suggestions on simple nutritious vegan food options that can easily be added. Have done this for other establishments and it’s been well-received.

Recommended dishes: Avocado Toast with Tomato

It’s a great space to sit and do work. However, we were disappointed that the $12 avocado toast with an egg was so bland. The bread was fantastic but it was just the bread with avocado and salt and pepper. There was a sad portion of arugula and one singular cherry tomato cut in half on the side… huh? Normally places with $12 avocado at least add red pepper flakes or honey? anything… The egg on top was ok.
Coffee- Also disappointing… very bitter, maybe wasn’t dialed in right? The oat milk was a thin watery consistency, maybe planet oat brand? I don’t know, overall it was … ok… Just disappointing considering the big beautiful space and the emphasis on good food and coffee.
We spent $51 for two coffees and two bland avocado toasts.

I needed a place to grab a coffee while I waited for an appointment. This was such a wonderful find. The coffee and bagel were delicious, plenty of room to sit, and the music was great. I really enjoyed my visit and will be back!
